Holy crap, the last few pages are ***. So what if JV earns a wage from running Slipstream, he built the team up from a junior squad using his own money. That hardly smacks of someone in it for financial gain.

Both Benotti and Sniper made allusions to JV selling a clean image to make more money. That sounds like he is making more money for himself when I would guess if he is selling a clean image, it is to attract more sponsorship for his team rather than make money personally. He could just as well have stayed away from cycling and made money for himself without all the hassle.
