Millar, who came back in 2006 from a two-year doping ban after admitting his guilt, is furious at Landis.

"He's reached the end of the road and I just find it disgusting," said Millar from his home training base in Girona, Spain. "He's a liar and a cheat and he has nothing left in cycling so he just wants to burn the house down."

After Landis' ban four years ago, Millar said he tried calling him to give advice on how to return to the sport. He never received a return call.

"If he had stood up and manned up four years ago, he'd be racing the Tour de France now," Millar said. "He'd have a different book out. He'd have not lost a penny. He'd be admired by young people. He would have a different life ahead of him. He'd be in a decent mental state. He'd be sober.

"And he'd be married."
Nothing short of disgusting.

Is he really a good spokesperson?

All I ever hear from David Millar is someone who has zero time, understanding or compassion for a view which isn't his own. Such an arrogant guy; I wouldn't have him represent me or my interests.

Yes, doping issues aside, Millar comes across as a thoroughly rancid individual.

Whatever ones views on the 'nauseating bull****', the personal stuff like the sobriety and the 'he'd be married' says everything about what a piece of work Millar is. I'd have thought keeping speculations / comments on the personal life out of any discussions of fellow sportsmens behaviour is the very basic level of respect one should extend to one's colleagues.

I laughed myself stupid when I heard Millar had apparently 'wanted to contribute to the report', but couldn't because he was busy and TPTB didn't want to accommodate his family time, or the fact he had a job as a busy professional cyclist, presumably by offering to fly the whole interview panel to him or have the entire process wait until a convenient time for Millar and his family could be identified.

bumping some Millar-related posts in the context of the discussion over in the Brits don't dope? thread.
Especially these three posts by Illudo and Diorgen, very interesting in terms of assessing Brailsford's involvement:
there is actually a quote, i think, Millar said "only doped twice".

It's seems incredible that the only cyclist on the WADA athletes commitee was too busy to meet the CIRC.

yeah.
i don't think he ever spoke of how he pursuaded others to start blooddoping either (what Gaumont accused him of).
or how he tried to silence Paul Kimmage.
never spoke about his suppliers either.
(said he got those syringes as a 'gift' in Spain.)

understandable, because i think if Millar would sing like a canary,
both his sister and Sir Dave Brailsford would be in double trouble.

Apologies Mark. Millar is not just arrogant and selfish, he is actively playing the game of omerta and trying to find a position of power in the sport.

If he is looking for a position of power in the administrative side of the sport, you would think he has just shot himself in the foot by not participating in the CIRC.
What was he thinking

he wants cooksons job.

he is triangulating the counter factual.

why bother have an ambiguous Chair. Or a genuine chair to sweep in anti-doping measure.

David millar, anti-doping hero, offers us more Omerta. That is his political strategy to be chair!

David Millar went from tossing Garmin's bikes to tossing Sky's salads.

This nitwit needs to consider himself lucky for having been allowed to pollute the sport as long as he has and go eff himself.

Nicely put, Moose. Echoes my thoughts precisely.

@millarmind - Your ongoing hypocrisy fans the flames of my loathing for you.

Does Millar even know what he wants to do? He is being so indecisive that it is not unsurprising that he doped. He should be disappointed that the Circ report didn't do much except come out with facts already known.
