Who's your back up Frenchman? Gaudu is clearly legs up Frenchman.
Also... he looks so silly sitting between Küng and Geniets.
I'll just call him my Mosquito instead and hope that he bites.

was anyone else shocked when gaudu appeared behind pog on granon?
what an experienced, steady ride by him, using all his teammates and making one final push. i had thought he was going to ship 8-12 minutes.
and can someone please tell rob hatch that it is not GODOT (as in Waiting for...)?

You were right!I think he could do something in week 3, LFG!
He's really put all my doubts to bed. Great work from him and the team. He might still lose a lot of time in the ITT, but he's proved that he can be a reliable leader.
I think things have to go very wrong to lose 4th from here
if there ends up an eng subtitled version let us knowIn case people are interested, David is starting a TDF debrief on twitch (5 min ago). (in french)
There isn't sadly, but you can find the video on YTB : COFFEE RIDE #2 : Je reviens sur mon Tour de France !if there ends up an eng subtitled version let us know
Thank you for sharing your notes! I’m going to have to watch that. There isn't sadly, but you can find the video on YTB : COFFEE RIDE #2 : Je reviens sur mon Tour de France !
I took some notes when I watched on the computer.
Stage : 1 almost fell near the bridge, which bring down his confidence and then he lost much more time in 2nd part.
Stage 3 : "what did WVA do there ?? On the TV it must have been nice to watch though" "Geniets saved my a** there, I broke my 2min watts record in that climb (525), imagine what Geniets did, WVA ? 800 ?"
longwy stage:
Sagan to Pog on stage 10 : "bet you have not the balls to go up there in the 40 men group"
- no one wanted to let wva go, he still did.
- he went because Jumbo didnt want to control all day.
Stage 11 :
At the start, he was right behind the car. He saw WVA and VDP chat. The car started but it took 200m for it to get clear from WVA.
Laporte said to them (FDJ) that Jumbo's plan is to attack on the galibier
many attacks not seen on TV in the Telegraphe : 4km from top 1st rog attack, then 2km new attack from rog, 3rd from rog before the top and a 4th at the top...
Later in the stage, WVA saved them to bring roglic back with a balistic speed, at that moment pog reacted so fast and so strong that no gap was allowed.
Many more details, but I stopped to take notes after this
We have the clear impression that Gaudu knew from La planche that he was not riding against Vingegaard and Pogacar, as they were untouchable.
Also he said the most incredible rider was WVA.
Thanks, interesting. Funnily enough it reminded me a bit of the classic post from eyeballs out ( https://forum.cyclingnews.com/threads/wout-van-aert.36262/post-2737647 )There isn't sadly, but you can find the video on YTB : COFFEE RIDE #2 : Je reviens sur mon Tour de France !

Just a few clarifications:
Did you (he) get things mixed up, maybe from thinking stage 1 was a prologue?
I don't think there was a major bridge on stage 1, and I don't think Van Aert did anything major on stage 3.
Why would he have lost time in the 2nd part of the great belt bridge stage? Wasn't there a few bridges on the TT route?
I was talking about the prologue, there was a tricky part with and S and a small bridge IIRC.Just a few clarifications:

Yes the famous bridge, I understand how it could have easily confuse you.Maybe... guess the the bridge bit confused me.
For stage 3 I meant the stage with "Cap blanc nez" so stage 4 indeed !
