Annoying that this finished literally the same minute as Vuelta. Gotta be honest, I expected slightly more carnage at the end, despite all the moves the group that arrived together was very big. Great win from Kristoff nevertheless.

I think tomorrow can be easy enough for some lighter classic riders to hold on.

But there's also a decision to make for there teams. Does EF go for Bettiol or do they use their numbers to make it hard for Guerreiro. Same with Ineos. At UAE Tour Gann did hold on on a similar climb but they also have Yates here. Mollema is nicely placed but I got the feeling that Trek were more committet to don't hurt Skjelmose's GC chances.

I think a fight between Bardet, Guerreiro, Yates and maybe some UAE or Trek riders looks likely. Bora wasn't good today but they just saved the day for their GC chances. But they will have to make the finale tomorrow very hard for Buchmann to have a chance but even then I don't see him dropping Yates or Bardet. They seem in good shape.

Bettiol looked really strong today.
In this kind of shape he could hold on tomorrow and fight for the gc.
I think Yates wins today, looks in form and has a good enough team to set a hard pace from the bottom. Schauinsland doesn't have steep gradients but with Luisenhöhe it's still basically 1000m of throughout climbing, don't think the group will be that big at the top.

You need in the first part of the climb, last few kms aren't hard enough to make any differences. If they don't make it too hard Bettiol can hang on if he has a good day.

If Bettiol has his 2021 Giro climbing legs (I know, big if) they won't drop him easy on such a climb, even if they go hard from the start.

I don't know what they do at Intermarché, but it's good, really good. Getting guys like Zimmermann in the top 5 and Huys in the top 10 here is pretty impressive.

I was very surprised how happy Adam Yates was yesterday when crossing the finish line as the stage winner and new leader.

Afterwards, he even spoke of today‘s (Sunday) stage as „quite hard“!…

So Ineos’ Adam Yates takes Deutschland Tour quite seriously - something which I never would have expected. After all he‘s one of the best climbers and GC riders in the world.

But, nice to see, of course!… :)
