He's obviously out of form/recovering from the Tour, but Milan has definitely taken a step back this year. He came here after a fairly intense Giro + track summer schedule and cleaned up.

Very good! Did i also just totally overlook the Grande Paul Magnier and the Paul Seixas threads until now?

Superb win for Brennan against one of the best in the world. I wonder what he can do on GC as the remaining stages should suit him too.

Indeed they do. Makes you wonder WTF Visma were doing letting Wout go for bonus seconds close to the finish and then leaving Brennan to fend for himself in the last 3km. Thankfully, Brennan's so good at freelancing, they got away with it.

Wout also tried to get involved in the sprint but he braked completely when he was nearer than a meter to another rider in a left hand curve and lost all hopes of getting a result.

Yeah, that was a bit bizarre to me as well. The team line was that Wout was there to lead Brennan out...except he wasn't there to lead Brennan out anywhere in the last 3k.

On another note, my season of becoming a Brennan fan is going really well.

Watched again. In fairness, I think Wout tried to bring Brennan forward for the intermediate, lost him, and thought 'sod it, I'll take those seconds, rather than another team'. In hindsight, those watts spent may have hindered him in the finale, but I do get it. Not questioning Wout. Great leader, great team player 👍.
