i really hope you are right.

I hope I am wrong. I would love to see Mr Armstrong take Landis to court. Civil trials are completely different from criminal trials. The Uniballer wouldn't have a shot...of course that is why he will not sue. He knows his case is a sure fire loser. He cannot sue anyone anymore. He is in a corner, and sooner or later, someone is going to land the knock out punch. He is defenseless except for his 12 year old girl defenses. And even now, his twitter has gone cold on this. I am sure he will say it is because it is not worth his time, but facing these accusations, anyone would be pretty concerned. Especially when there is talk of Federal investigation. That is no joke, I don't care who you are. All of the press releases in the world will not change that. He is left with PR, and that is perfect for someone who loves the spotlight...except he doesn't really want this one..."All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up."

Just returning to the original topic for a second and sidstepping the LA fanatics (both pro and anti)

Given that Floyd is trying to clear his conscience, I wonder how he is going to raise the capital to pay back all of the money he fraudulently obtained from genuine, if gullible people who supported his campaign.

Maybe he could write another book entitled: "Positively false: How I Lied My *** Off". Maybe he could start it with the words: "I have nothing to hide..." Oh wait he's already started one like that before:rolleyes:

No, to add "libel" Mr Armstrong would have to have the ball to sue him, which he doesn't.

A libel suit by Lance would be a HUGE mistake because truth is a defense in any defamation case. FLandis would be able to use any evidence which tends to prove that he was telling the truth, i.e. that Lance was doping. Plus FLandis would have subpeona power to get testimony in depositions and in court. Lets not forget that the Lemond v. Trek lawsuit was settled before Lance's deposition. If Lance was to sue the case could involve not only the wrath of FLandis (who is easily impeachable) but also Walsh, Andrea, Lemond et. al. Plus it would be in public records. A trial would be a lose lose situation for Lance. Plus, as mentioned, at this point FLandis is judgment proof.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "He's here, really? Tell him I said hi. How's he doing?" Dave Zabriskie on being told of Floyd Landis' presence at the Tour of California ITT.

I dont know about the civil courts in US and Europe but CAS dont even exist outside a sport tribunal we sign to have all cycling matters dealt with by CAS .
CAS have a lot of far reaching powers but they cant over rule a Fereral or High court Judge.
