I was really surprised to see Dirk Hofman in California recently! So far I'd only seen him in Belgium. I also saw a similar sign for a Slagerij (butcher) in ATOC.

It's become a meme, it's not serious.

ya, it is part of cycling tradition from the Classics in the 70's and 80's.
I used to ask myself the same question when I would see that sign in Winning Magazine.
if you hold up a Dirk Hoffman Motorhomes sign now days you're saying 'I'm and old school Flandrien'
