how did Saunier Duval attract a new sponsor and how did they get money from 'footon's marketing budget after the disgraceful year this year!?

The UCI today advised Spanish rider Alberto Fernandez De La Puebla Ramos that he is provisionally suspended. The decision to provisionally suspend this rider was made in response to a report from the WADA accredited laboratory in Lausanne indicating an Adverse Analytical Finding of EPO in a urine sample collected from him in an out of competition test at his home on 15 October 2009.
Dr José Ibarguren, current team doctor for Fuij-Servetto, who formerly worked with Euskaltel-Euskadi and Saunier Duval, the team haunted by a doping past of riders Iban Mayo, Leonardo Piepoli and Riccardo Riccò.

Alberto Fernandez De La Puebla Ramos makess number 16 of his direct managed riders caught doping during his team doctor career.

Fernandez even with EPO was still ****- so should be banned and forgotten but Dr José Ibarguren should be shot .

come on, USPS, Discovery, Bruyneel, Quickstep, Cervelo, CSC/Saxo Bank, Columbia-HTC, are EVERY bit as dirty as Saunier. But Saunier get screwed.

They are dirty, not an apologist. But, they don't get the protection.

My question? Why the double standards? Go the big boys. They can handle it, they have the financial pay-off. Heck, Garmin were riding like Saunier riders this Tour. And remember when Christian Vande Velde who has never shown legs in the mtns, attacked on Plateau de Beille when Ricco won, then he said in the press, he could have gone with Peipoli and Cobo and Frank Schleck, on the stage Peipoli won.

And we know how those 3 riders were implicated. So Vande Velde shows this new found form, never before seen this threshold, in 2008, versus all these Saunier couterparts who are vilified in the meedja, but Vande Velde is hands off. Pleeeeeeease.

So, give them a break. They are no worse than these teams above. And all their riders are on minimum wage virtually.

VdV is on a gluten free diet and is boosted by the knowledge that he is riding clean ;)

Thanks for the reminder. VandeVelde has shown a leap in form ever since he left the US. He couldn't hang with the domestic scene that well and it's been a "revelation" how well he rode in Europe...almost immediately, a water carrier for someone...

CVv took this, they took that- all guess work that does nothing to help the sport.

we dont know
we can speculate - might even be an educated guess but a GUESS>

fugi guys are caught! caught cheating. i dont care if they are riding for potato chips they are CHEATING and the replication of the positive tests mean they are in a dirty team.

the slanderous guess work from above is passionate and might be true, but we have to protect the reputation (or what is left of the sport) and stop guessing.

You're right. The temptation to call out some of the more obvious performance leaps is difficult to supress but not productive or on topic. No nominees for sainthood on those other rosters, however.

Go on, when you saw the head line that De La Puebla Ramos had been busted, you thought 'who?'.

Indeed I did. Because it's like a headline saying "CONI suspends Belmonte from riding in Italy for two years". Or like a headline saying "Edward Gunderson had EPO in his retested 1999 samples". Meaning: it's his name, yes, but it's also the part of his name that's never used and that no one knows him by.

If it were to read "Alberto Fernández", on the other hand, I'd think of the small lightweight climber with some interesting results for his youngish age.
