I really enjoyed my stay in Frankfurt a few years ago. Nice place and people. Had a really bad pizza, though the chips were good. And Goethe was from there.

Where did you get the pizza? And if you'd been drinking, why a pizza - we know that Döner macht schöner! I lived in Frankfurt for some time. It's where my love of cycling was born actually. I remember it well, those bits that I remember at least. Among the most fun I ever had. And so convenient for cycling too - just go onto the U3 with your bike and go ride in the Taunus mountains.

I stayed in the only hostel in Frankfurt (across the road from the train and bus station). It was a bit seedy as in the basement (the hostel was on the 3rd floor) was a strip club (FTR I didn't go in there), and to walk 50m down the road and turned left as to what looked like the Red Light district. Thankfully I was only there to catch an plane back home.

Ah yes, the walk to the city from the Hbf, I stayed in a hotel there for a few days while waiting for my accommodation contract to start. Not the most salubrious, but then, every city's got it. Usually the area around the train station is one of the worst. Even Oslo, though it's mostly behind the train station, as you step out of Oslo S next to two big shopping precincts and look down Karl Johans Gate at the heart of the city. I'm kind of in love with Oslo. The first time I went to Frankfurt I was pretty unsure about the place, but the more time you spend there, the more you find to do, and it's a really cool city when you can get past the 'Mainhattan' skyline and slightly seedy impressions that the area around the station provides.

After a talk with the guys from that hostel I got to know that that really was Frankfurt its red light district. I don't know why but the entire city of Frankfurt always appeared quite seedy and dirty

...In view of my closed thread: Lingerie Cyclists, I thought I'd pose this question to our august readers.

I would say yes, they do have a sense of humour, if you post something funny. If you post something that's not very funny, don't put much effort into it, and it's an incredibly obvious way to get people to post incredibly obvious sexist comments/photos/links etc, then it can quite easily get closed without the mods 'not having a sense of humour'.

Posting 2 reactionary threads complaining about a thread being closed, however, suggests that maybe wrecktangle needs to lighten up a bit.

After Francois' moderation of my comment in the Armstrong thread involving a Liverstrong band and a male in the porn industry, I can affirmatively say that they do not in fact have a sense of humor.

Our sense of humour and our duty to keep threads within the lines lined out by CN don't always overlap.

It is actually an effing shame... But as stated earlier, their site- their rules. To me, this place has lost much. Oh well...

Is that why you and many others predominantly use this forum to post about Politics and not cycling?

At one time I probably had more posts in the Babes thread. I may not post as much in cycling threads but that does not mean I don't read them.

If you must know, I genenerally post when I have something to say rather than when any thought pops in my head.
