I'm not saying rising to the level of elite professional athlete does not involve hard work. Its your implication that it is somehow harder than becoming one of the best in the world at something less glamorous that I take issue with.

Where did I imply that?

Becoming one of the best in the world in anything which involves either skill or fitness normally involves a great deal of work by the standards of most people.

Actually, I was saying he wasn't a jerk, i.e. that he was nice, not good. To be honest I think he's into lying beyond the call of duty and I consider him a fundamentally dishonest and, yes, bad person.

Your posts make me sad. I'm wondering whether you know anything about him. You talk about him as if he's the worst person in the world.

Out of interest, what are your feelings on Contador's fondness for hunting. I dare say a few people would consider killing animals for sport not particularly 'nice'

I phrased that badly. You implied Andy Schleck's work ethic is some sort of rare quality, and I disagree: a lot of people put in the effort to be as successful as they possibly can be, be it in recruitment consultancy, gas trading, or whatever, and their efforts are just as valid as Schleck's.

Well get yourself an uncontroversial guy to swoon for if this kind of thing affects you.

Just out of interest, how old are you? You act like a Belieber.

Those people are hypocrites unless they're vegetarian. Where does it say hunting is bad by the way? Because of someone's ethical ideology that they try and enforce upon others? What's better? Killing an animal after it enjoyed a live of freedom in the wild nature or killing an animal in a slaughterhouse after having spent its entire life in stables?

**** them. Dirty hypocrites.

Ps: Schlecks are into hunting as well.

I think hunting is wrong and should be forbidden, but hey, I've never claimed Alberto's perfect.

Calm down. I just said that some people don't see it as particularly nice.

Personally, I'm fairly non-committal on the matter.

I wasn't talking about you in that post ;)

Rude or not, but unless these people are vegetarians, they're hypocrites.

Not too old I hope! Other than Contador she also seemed to have a bit of a crush on Riis jr. He's about 17-18 I'd say...

Except that it isn't Bieber I'm crazy about.

Hence why he said act like a belieber. I might be wrong but I guess what he implies is that you're so obsessed with a person [Contador] that you refuse to accept his faults. Of course he has faults. Otherwise he'd be the dullest person in the peloton...

Just to change the subject :)

Favorite riders: Heinrich Haussler, benat intxausti, Wout Poels, Rein Taaramae, Elia Viviani (was a fan before he was cool :))Ramunas NAVARDAUSKAS , and Tom SLAGTER.

Out of those, Haussler I've heard is a super nice guy, same with Poels and Taaramae. JV has said good things about Ramunas, but I don't know if he's nice or not :)

Tommy is 19, and I'm 21 so it's not too creepy.

1) Of course, I know what he meant. It's just that it's not the first time a poster has said this to me, and this is just how I react to that.

2) I do acknowledge he has his flaws, that's what makes him fascinating. Look back a few posts and see that I posted:

He's 19... I just thought he was about 1 or 2 when Riis won + the 16 years from 1996 to 2012... but of course me and math...

Well... you are rather obsessed. :p

Sorry. Missed that.

Obsession is a very loaded term. Fleur prefers "extreme liking".
Similarly, "extreme following" can be used as a replacement for the more socially unacceptable "stalking".

He was born in August 1992, if I'm correct.

TGBM is one of my favorite riders and he happens to be about the nicest guy I can think of :D

And yet I have some weird respect/fascination for *******s like Ricco, maybe because of the colour they brings amidst all the shades of grey.

Nice Riders

Has anyone ever had any rider wave to them or SMILE or throw them a bottle ?? The only riders i,ve seen who actually seem to be enjoying their job is Heinrich Haussler and Ed Boassen Hagen. The riders look at spectators as though they are looney and come across as a bit arrogant.

Any experiences ?

I'd add Geraint Thomas to that list. Amazing guy. Flecha is another one, constant smile on his face and attitude even in his interviews
