How do you not send the 14th placed rider at Giro dell'Emilia to Lombardia? Pozzovivo is clearly among the best performing IPT riders at the moment.

it certainly sound like, but as mentioned in the transfer thread, he is the one delaying it, not the team. Pozzovivo wants to do a final Giro, so he will only sign when they get a wild card for it.

That was also something he reposted and the wild cards are announced in the beginning of Jan, I believe.

So there is probably an agreement in principle if they get invited... which they probably has a good chance of with Pozzovivo in the team.

I would have loved it if he signed with Bardiani as a mentor for Pellizari. Mentoring Piganzoli at Polti would also be a better option in my book, but at least he should get full leadership at Corratec for a final Giro attempt, where he hopefully won't crash out again.

A good ride at TA - 9 mins down on Vingegaard in 31st on GC - not bad for 1st race at 41 years old. I expect more races before the Giro, but PCS have just the Giro next.

I think we can be fairly confident he'll ride one or more of Coppi e Bartali, Giro d'Abruzzo and Tour of the Alps.

Today's Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali is the next stop on Pozzovivo's come back.

3,000 m of climbing in stage 2, so it's time for Pozzovivo to test his legs.

Stage 2 of Coppi e Bartali and Pozzovivo came in a respectable 9th at just 8 seconds behind Ulissi, which moves him to 10th on GC just 18 seconds down. Some good training for the Giro!

Domenico is hanging in there on GC and is able to follow the front group so getting some good work in.

It seems to have gone well at Coppi e Bartali for Pozzovivio. 8th on GC only 30 seconds down, was hanging in there at the stage finishes, so on path for the Giro!
