Another good showing at Giro d'Abruzzo. Came in 10 th on GC, 3 minutes down on GC winner Lutsenko, but getting those kms in before the Giro. Not down for the Tour of the Alps, so it's the Giro next for Pozzovivo at the moment.

First proper climb on stage 2, and a respectable 17th place - same time as Bardet - 1 min 20 secs behind Pogacar, ahead of Caruso & Zana. 20th on GC at 2 and a half minutes together with Bardet & Plapp so not bad for a 41 year old.

Agreed. And why wouldn’t he just want to perform as well as he can in his final Giro, especially given he’s gotten knocked out of the race several times recently.

In addition, because of his lack of explosiveness the odds are pretty small of him winning a stage from a break.
