That's appalling!

Appalling!

Are you preaching again? Citing off your degree?

Should we also take you at face value?

BTW, I looked it up on Google and got over 25 million links discussing whether a psychology degree a real science degree. But what do they know?

Here's a question for you, since you read the statistics book and everything.

What is the, I mean your, null hypothesis here?

Dave.

When it comes to you, the only hypothesis I have is the Alternative Hypothesis i.e. nothing you say could be held to be true!

8-Time U.S. Champ Mo Trafeh Retires After Being Found with EPO

(link)

Good riddance from the sport of road running

He must've consulted with Basso for this official statement:
As an elite runner, former U.S. Road Champion, and proud-USA representative, it is with great sadness that I announce my retirement. … Against my better judgment and after hours of discussions, I made an unwise decision to purchase EPO, a USOC banned substance, so that I could train in effort to return to my previous form. … I would like to publicly state that since 2008 I have been one of the most sought after targets in our sport and have never failed a drug test. I was stopped before I was able to use EPO, I never previously used EPO and if I had the financial resources to fight this case, I am confident that I would prevail.

Oh boy, he never failed a drug test. Wow.

There aren't a lot of people as suspected as him. MoPO is his given nickname. Based in Morocco, but flies back to compete at US road championships. His 5000m PR set last year was set at a small meet in Morocco, on the last day of the qualifying window for the US champs, and he got the standard by .01 seconds

Never failed a test? He was hardly tested
No USADA tests in 2010, his breakout year (2 in 2011, 5 in 2012, 12 in 2013, 4 in 2014), no IAAF OOC tests in the last 4 years. Hardly any testing at Road Races to begin with...

MMA fighter Chael Sonnen has failed ANOTHER drug test. This time he was caught taking HGH, EPO and hCG.

I wrote in an earlier post in this thread that I was suspicious that EPO also had made its way to MMA because Vitor Belfort had an abnormal hematocrit on at least one lab analysis. It didn't take long for the other shoe to drop.

He'd already retired, too.

I see Michele Ferrari et al making a killing in sports like this where doping interventions are clearly being conducted in an amateurish fashion.

I remember all the gullible people buying Sonnon's excuse after the first(it wasn't the real first, I mean most recent first) positive test. People even praised his intelligence and speaking ability.

In fact, he failed the IQ test.

I have to wonder, if everyone in MMA dopes like crazy and this guy tests positive for 5 different substances when he is years in the sport, what is going on?

He got of the so-called TRT and replaced it with all this? Just testosterone must be really effective, then. Wonder why he decided it would suddenly be detectable.]

It's funny though FOX and UFC kept him after the initial positive but fired after the second. What changed?

lol wtf is that with Serena? Is that genuine?

She must be completely drunk playing that game.

I google'd it and apparently she has a viral infection. Donno why this is in the doping threat though. She forgot to take her skill pill?

I have no idea how it can really be doping related either, just thought I may as well post it because she's a dodgy character and its bizarre

They're calling it a viral illness. I'd like to know what, exactly, but I suspect we'll never know. From that video linked above, it looked to me like she was barely able to stand. I'm confused as to what she was even thinking trying to play and embarass herself in such a way. If she knew she was unable to even hold onto a tennis ball, what in the world made her think she'd be able to compete in Wimbledon?

"Unfortunately Serena has been feeling unwell for the past few days and she just couldn't play to her potential today," Venus said in a statement.

That's being rather generous. It looked to me like she couldn't even see the ball, let alone play to her potential. I'm actually surprised she didn't completely miss the ball on a serve.

Serena's "virus" looked a lot more like a drug high to me (although I am no expert).

She was already eliminated from the more prestigious draw (singles), and probably decided to party (as most athletes do when the pressure is off - just ask the Olympians what happens in the Olympic village when most of the events are completed). Serena supposedly went missing after her singles loss (her coach hadn't seen her in two days).

Of course the ITF COULD test her for recreational drugs after that match and catch her, but they wouldn't want any embarrassment.

Something was definitely ****y with Serena and it is a real shame that we will probably never find out.

Serena Williams today..

Bizarre, exactly like the scenes in Space Jam where the players lost their talent.

Wow. She can't even field the ball when tossed to her from the side.

The commentating is priceless as well. They're completely dumbfounded. Can't say it really caused me to shed a tear though.

Oh, this is rich. ARod had a TUE for testosterone before he got busted. Apparently all his steroid abuse lowered his natural testosterone to the point where he was able to argue he needed exogenous T.

Between the therapeutic-use exemption (TUE) granted Rodriguez in 2007 for testosterone and one in 2008 for Clomid, a drug used to help women get pregnant and men create more testosterone, baseball for two years sanctioned PED use by someone who turned out to be one of its most notorious PED users.

The sport's own rules almost certainly prompted it to authorize Rodriguez's PED use. When a person takes steroids, as Rodriguez did, it upsets the body's ability to produce testosterone naturally. Thus, Rodriguez actually having low testosterone, and presenting with a case of hypogonadism, was a plausible scenario. So, in a backward way, A-Rod's unauthorized use of PEDs may well have allowed him to get permission to use them.

A book out alleges he started taking steroids in high school. Big surprise.

Longtime MMA writer and newsman Greg Savage guesstimates 75% of MMA fighters are on PEDs.

The promoters of the (grappling-only) Metamoris 4 even don't seem too concerned about Sonnen's positives. He's still their headliner.
nah, that is about 26% short.

you dont forgo a doping disadvantage when you are fighting for your life. you wanna kill the other guy, he wants to kill you. but you will give him the opportunity for a roid advantage, because you believe in anti-doping.

pull the other one.

if you reckon in 1998 the peloton was hot and everyone on it. Well, there you go for combat sport. We are talking about people wishing to inflict damage, not to speak about amorphous concepts of sportsmanship and anti-doping in liberal arts schools like claremont colleges, oh and in betsy andreu's salon

So "former" LOL drug cheat Justin Gatlin posts the fastest time of the year in the 100....and Tyson Gay "former" drug cheat just back from his year off second with a 9.93. Sprinting looking clean as ever I'd say.

That Serena video was hard to watch. Sure, call it a virus. She looked drunk or hungover to me. But who knows.

That would be my guess. There seems to be a very lax approach to testing. Reminds me of cycling in the 90's. And with Dana White seeing dollar signs above all else, why tip over the cart?

Hey! I posted about that in his own thread!;)

Here's the Sports Illustrated article on A-Roid.

I'll be surprised if Rodriguez ever plays baseball again. He tried to sue the union, and several pitchers have openly said they would bean him if they faced him. The fans in NY hate him. Fans everywhere hate him, and no one will pay him the money he's "owed". Even the Yankees management would likely rather eat the $27m they owe him than have his toxic waste on the team.

My wife and I were trying to not to laugh too hard in front of our son who was buying some of the worst ' I just lost in the singles so let me act REALLY sick' so I can leave the stupid (and not nearly as lucrative) doubles match and go home and chill out.

Seriously, Serena, I could pound a fifth of Tequila and serve a tennis ball better than that afterwards. Keep your day job. Acting ain't in your future. OK, even giving you don't feel too well (which may be in dispute), what's really bothering you is you're out of the singles tournament so no point in hanging around.

Is there some EXTRA benefit for quitting on medical grounds? Or it just looks better that way to the ten people who don't think you aren't already a diva amongst divas?

Tiger Woods now sponsored by 'MusclePharm'

And what of golf? Two weeks ago, on his return to competition after a back injury that required surgery, Tiger Woods was asked by Karen Crouse of The New York Times about the new sponsor on his golf bag. 'MusclePharm,' a dietary supplement company based in Denver, has been cited in the past for unauthorised use of certification marks.

"Would the MP on his bag make Woods a target for random testing on the PGA Tour?" But the former world No 1 just laughed. "I haven't been tested all year," he said.
