Sagan held his line fine, and if he did move off his line a little it wasn't significant at all. Demare could have come through but the slight bend in the final probably made the space too small for him to feel comfortable coming through.

Sagan got very lucky he accidentally blocked off Demare and made him stop and start mid sprint.

Is Sagan's efforts in Tirreno catching up with him? He didn't look strong today.

My list of races Cav could have won if OPQS knew how to ride for him is getting quite long. Hope the 10 seconds are worth it for Chav by the end of the TT.

This 110% - and after that epic spell at the front from Boonen:rolleyes:. Obviously the focus on potential conflict between Cav and Tommeke when Cav joined should have been about Chava vs Cav.

Cav has clearly done the graft to get over the hills and bergs and Chava keeps working for Sagan - doh!

Go watch the video again (they've played it about a hundred times already), Sagan did't block him at all. The space just got small because of a bend in the final.
Of course you could watch the video a thousand times and still say Sagan blocked Demare.

More his efforts at GW

Besides, here he was up against a real and fast sprinter, not the second rate ones he faces when he is able to hang on in hilly stages or if he has to sprint in an escape groupe

Very nice sprint nevertheless by both of them

Demare should have continued for the win, there was not much of a danger, maybe a bit of elbow/shoulder touching, but that's normal in the sprints, it's much worse in the bunch sprints with sometimes 10+ fast guys going full gas on not so wide roads

working for Sagan? He followed his attack, of course. Chava is the better TTer, but he shouldnt give him half a minute bonus.
Maybe Terpstra should've stayed with Cav. But that's all there is to say.

Routinely done by Sagan.
But I think he'll need a strong teammate besides him in Flanders to help him marking the attacks and be insurance in the front group(s). Saving energy will be the key against Cancellara and OPQS.
