I think that's because these guys are the result of the track programs that NZ run. Guys like Henderson, Roulston, Gudsell (formerly of FDJ), Brewley, Sergent etc. have all come from the track program. Similar to Great Britain as well, a guy like Dan Martin switched to Ireland (despite being born in Birmingham) because there wasn't a lot that British cycling could do for him since he's not a trackie. Also because NZ isn't like Colombia for example where it has a lot more depth and the terrain (ie high altitude) suits climbers a lot more.

Maybe they could re-name this edition as the 8 minutes of West-Vlaanderen?:rolleyes:

One of Radioshack's youngsters was 7th too, but that was Nelson Oliveira.

There was no split at the finish line.Radio Shack split the field at the beginning of the stage 21 riders got away and the bunch tried to come back a long time and gave up when the race hit the finishing circuits...
