A bit too steep for Cort.
No. Actually perfect for him compared to the other sprinters.

But Colbrelli is apperently the best on those.

Yes, looking at the replay, he's coming from way behind
Don't think he could have beaten Colbrelli who looked like he was the strongest, but those types of finishes are perfect for him. Better than flatter sprints.

McNulty started to go hard way too early, he completely underestimated the last climb. He was giving it his all at the flamme rouge, and there's no way he can going at his threshold for that long with a 17% ramp at the end.

Also to the cn live ticker: Brabantse Pijl is slightly bigger than a hatta dam sprint
And so is a Paris-Nice stage.

BMC riders were seventh, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth and sixteenth on today's stage. Impressive in a strange way.

How can you favour Kittel or Cav for tommorow's stage when there's Colbrelli, Cort or even Degenkolb for that finish?

Wow, now I feel dumb I didn't read your post before writing :D

Haha it's fine, it happens many times to me.

Great stage today. What a nice finale with McNulty drama. I really rooted for him until the end. As expected Colbrelli WAY ahead. Cort Nielsen with an impressive come back. Just look from where he starts on the last turn. Great form, Im happy to see him at this level. Roosen also interestingly here.

Just watched a video of the finish, was that Van Hooydonck who'd passed out at the finish? BMC rider in white... didn't look good...

That finish is just stupid

Why would it be more stupid than another race? It's just a small uphill finish inbetween 4 other pan-flat stages. That sounds rather good to me.

Does anybody remember Euskaltel? Those were Basque lads in orange, which loved breakaways and crashes. That uphill stage to the dam got me very nostalgic as there was both an orange shirt crashing out at the back of the peloton and an orange shirt dogfightning the peloton at the front. Sad, that this young and very talented McNulty guy cracked in the last 100m but for a Dubai Tour stage i found this one genuinely interesting. Hope to see you more in the future mr. McNulty.

Is Viviani the second fastest after Kittel these days? I mean, Greipel and Cav aren't getting any younger.

It's very early days, but at the moment who's the premier sprinter at Quick-Step? I'd have said Gaviria before this week, but while his victories came in a weak sprinter field, Viviani has gone up against the top names and come out victorious. Ok, it sounds like he was helped by an incident today and clearly has the best lead-out but his first victory was well deserved.
