Benoot will win. GVA won't overextend himself, they'll ride away and Benoot finally takes his first race.

A bit off-topic but why hasn't Dillier raced since Dubai? He's down for Basque Country only on PCS. Is he ill or injured? Seems too long without racing even if he has let go of the cobbles (which I hope he hasn't) and is just focusing on the Ardennes.

He has been busy with the track world champs.

That Giant-Alpecin team is the one for the Criterium Internation. For Dwars the line-up is:

Søren Kragh Andersen (DEN)
Roy Curvers (NED)
Bert De Backer (BEL)
Koen de Kort (NED)
Ramon Sinkeldam (NED)
Tom Stamsnijder (NED)
Albert Timmer (NED)
Zico Waeytens (BEL)

Waetyens and Kort should lead the team here.

I am quite interested how many Tinkoff riders arrive to the finish. :)
3 Slovak riders, that's great, but I can't see Kolar or Baska finishing this. Juraj Sagan may surprise, if they give him sort of free role.

Would Brussels Airport Attack affect the race? Will some riders' plane will cancel?

Flights are being send to other airports, but really..... I wonder what they will do with the cycling races tbh. In Belgium it's maximum terror alert level. I can see them cancelling races.

Also an attack on the subway now.....

Well more important is the safety ofcourse. I'm afraid for Belgium that today there will be a series of attacks and then it's probably quiet again for a while.

My thoughts are with the victims.

There is too much hate....

I always feared a cycling race would be a perfect goal for terrorist attack. You can't check every single person all along 200 kms route. Just imagine someone throwing a bomb inside the peloton.

Could Ronde van Vlaanderen be possibly under threat too?

Yes, if the authorities will increase the threat level to level 4 (highest level) for the whole country for the upcoming weeks.

Doesn't look good for E3 and Gent-W either if they cancel Dwars. There is still some time until Ronde though.

If they race, something that would be really neat - as much as something can be 'neat' in a situation like this - would be if all the winning-money were given to the victims.

I honestly dont think there will be attacks after today because the last times there also were a few attacks on one day and then nothing in the weeks afterwards
Still I hope they will cancel at least this race because the risk is still very high, because I dont know if the riders want to race and because I doubt that the race will be enjoyable anyway one day after such horrible things happened.
