I find it amazing how much some people get upset about riders sitting on wheels and ignore the biggest problem in pro cycling. sad.

the biggest problem in pro cycling, people like you who turn the sports attention to doping everytime they can.

Take it to the clinic.

+11111.... STFU and go to the clinic vennuty...

please lets not talk about the clinic. that place makes me sick. . . seriously how can they claim they love the sport when every performance above dead last is the performance of a doper.

but if you feel sick go to the clinic...
oh wait............................ :D

I wonder if they would have been caught had the peloton been using radios. I remember thinking that the chase looked piecemeal, with everyone kinda doing their own thing and exciting little attacks blossoming all over the road.

Would radios have resulted in a more organized chase, benefitting the sprinters? Is this the dawning of a new age of racing where breakaways aren't simply reeled in by mechanical sprint trains and moves like this can out last the peloton?

I certainly hope so.

These roads and upcoming races might also be a factor.
Some of the big names ride these races with 95% in any way - 5% left for the monuments.

If then some little bit smaller names give 100% then they might win.

Please lets not talk about radios. :D

are you leif hoste? :p

Maybe. I never won a major race so I just could be.:D

But really he looks strong. He gained a few kilos (in a good way) too.
With a little luck, and he deserves it, he could do something.
Everyone will look at him as Pozzato's super domestique so if Pozzato is in a good shape and shadows everyone he sees in front of him, he can pull something like Devolder in the past.
Its a long shoot but how can you not like Hoste.

Did Boonen had troubles in final sprint? It looked like he stopped his sprint to sort something and than he continued. Did anyone noticed this?

We watched the same stream today?

Just watched the 14min recap. How did Garmin blow that one? Nuyens Thomas and the other guy were sitting there less than 10 seconds ahead the last 10km. I think by my count they hat 3-4sec at 1k to go, not the 7-10sec I read in the CN live coverage.

Now I know the radio debate is totally screwy. Pack had these guys dangling right there in front of them for 10k and still didn't bring them back. Maybe the riders can't think without the DS's telling them what to do....... :)

what happened to greg van avermaet in the finale?
Said the race was harder than it seems. But they were counting on Garmin & Quickstep to close the gap.
Didn't want to ride the sprint, wanted to attack, but never succeeded in getting away.

I know you're just baiting, but if you'd paid attention you'd have seen that he was strong last year as well. He just didn't have any luck.

wasn't it dvv when nuyens punctured in the front group?
