Indeed, but the fact that there is now the E3 prijs/Gent Wevelgem pro tour combination in the weekend comes also into play. Until a few years ago you had only E3 prijs in the weekend plus Brabantse Pijl which was mainly raced by the hilly riders.

Plus the E3 prijs has moved to friday, and Milano Sanremo to a sunday. So there's a day less after Sanremo (and people who rode that really need to recuperate from that) and there's only one day between this race and the much more important E3-prijs. Really tough spot in the calender now.

Should be an open race. Will stannard have recovered from his mammoth ride in SanRemo to really compete here?

Or indeed anyone who finished SanRemo? Presumably that played a big role in chavanel pulling out

Maybe he got sick after MSR og just need a few more days of recovery like alot of the others who did MSR?

Really looking forward to this, hopefully someone will get their first major win. Probs Breschel, Terpstra or Flecha will take it though but should be one hell of a scrap.

I ll be rooting for Chainel even though he didnt show anything yet this year, so my hopes are pretty low.

Guess it will be between Stannard, Leukemans, Gallopin and Terpstra.

Flecha is also off the startlist now?

EDIT: Flecha is still on at the Vacansoleil site, but he got removed on some startlists

Stybar is not on the Procycling stats start list. But they still have Thomas starting for SKY, so probably they have not updated yet.

Kristoff is probably a good bet...for winning the bunch sprint for secondary placings. Probably a breakaway winning with Flecha, Stannard etc.
