He was aiming for LBL this season, but that's not going to happen.
Prolly AGR now, but he did pretty good in Vlaanderen last year. He might want to make that a priority now.

Just saying that coming across dumb in interviews has nothing to do with that. Might be just testing his legs.
Devolder pciked the exact right spot to go in Flanders 2 years in a row. Ever heard an interview with him? :p

Well, it wouldn't be the first time that Hoogerland cost himself a race by going off way to soon. Last year he rode a very respectable Worlds (14th) despite having spent the best part of the last 80 kms attacking and pulling on a break. Same in Lombardia, except he managed to stay with all the favorites (save Gilbert and Sanchez) despite having ridden hard for 40 kms while all the others were reasonably comfortable in the peleton being piloted by their teammates.
