It was in the JB live webchat with Fat cyclist. JB was asked which one rider would he love to have in his team. He said EBH.

Whatever answer he'd given it would no doubt be cause for speculation. But its like Riis saying Rider x is a great rider, or Brailsford or Vaughters saying rider Y is a great rider. Doesnt mean anything.)
Of course, but it probably means that he will try to sign him at least, just like Vaugthers will try to get Geraint Thomas on board ;)

Ive already warned JV off that one ;) If he dares I will get someone to shave off his sideburns while he is sleeping.

Geraint has replaced him. Thomas is in absolutely storming form, EBH has a niggling injury. Makes perfect sense to put G in.

Storming form? What other than Dwaars says he has storming form?

Didn't you see him boss the final KM of pretty much every flat finish at Paris-Nice?

Did you not watch Paris-Nice?

G has raced four times this year.

Tour down under - was the main leadout man for Swift who picked up two stages.
Paris Nice - was the one man sprint train that got one win for Hendo and nearly picked up one for himself. And then drove the wiggins group over all the climbs on sunday.
Milan San Remo - fail
Dwaars - Second

Hes probably been Sky's best rider so far, by a fair margin.

To be honest, I think he should rest up on sunday and give a real serious go at winning 3 days of de panne.

Shame... Also disappointing that we wont see him (at his best at any rate) in Flanders and Roubaix. I still think he's not ready to win, or Top-5 either of those two, but it would've been nice to see him try.

that's the kind of injury nobody wants to fvck around with-It must come from some fvcked up bike fitting or a pedal/cleat/shoe issue not resolved in the past and just kept growing.

Good luck to him.

He'll get over this ankle injury just like he got over the injury to his other ankle he had last year. He's still a kid, it's a bit early to be writing off his whole career thanks to a couple of unfortunate injuries.

Note that it's not on the same foot as last year. He reportedly didn't feel much pain in MS-R but it's not like he would pull out of G-W if there weren't pain. He went back to Norway to get treated by the same guy who helped him last year. Nonetheless he won't have good form for RVV even if he should ride. I just hope he doesn't lose 2 months of training like he did last year because that affected his entire season.

It's not just the Achilles' heel, the fact that he can only stomach fluid fish during races doesn't seem very conducive to a career in cycling either. You can have all the talent in the world, if you can't make it to the final of a race that won't help you.

I expect (and hope) that his constitution will improve as his body gets more and more used to being on the bike. He'll be snarfing down energy gels with the best of them in five years.

Its a different foot, be did it during Tirreno, but still managed to ride 300k of MSR on it. Its pretty much a precautionary measure to get some treatment, and hes replaced by THomas who is in good form.

I think maltiv once said something like that... I've probably taken it out of context, but I just like the fact that he drinks fish :)

He has had stomach problems in the past when drinking sports drinks so they have found an alternative that is based on fish protein that he drinks instead of sports drinks which seems to be working fine.

Any idea what it tastes like? Would assume it has been flavoured to taste like any other sports drink, and wouldnt just taste like the brine from a tin of tuna?!

Damn! Somebody beat me to the Freire comparison...

Yep, EBH is starting to look like a guy who's going to race 30-45 days/yr but still rack up some Classics and WRR titles along the way.

Freire's back problems started soon enough, though. He lost most of the 1999 season (then he came back and won the WC because he's Oscar ****ing Freire).

The only difference being that Freire was a natural at the longer distances. World champ at age 23, in his second season as a pro.
