A lot of the time, yes. Still unusual to have 0 news by late August. There usually would've been at least 1 or 2 contract extensions announced by now.

Movistar never announces until after La Vuelta and then pull a bunch of head scratching signings.

I would agree, but I was looking at EF's team and thinking they don't have anyone strong enough to control breaks.

No.

Uran and Costa DNFed and Uran seemed to have no form whatsoever anyway based on stage 4.
Rafferty was disappointing too, he climbed more like if he was a heavy rouleur, not one of the top u-23 stage race prospects.
Cepeda was the only one climbing kinda decently but I don't think he is very well suited for controlling breaks.

Their GT selections were so weak this year. Carthy no form at all, Powless no form at all, Chaves mediocre, Uran and Rafferty already mentioned, Ryan and Carr omitted from selections (for Ryan it makes sense I guess given how he had health issues and few race days in the previous few years).
Need to have better 2025.

Why are they criticising EF? Carapaz wasn't a real podium contender until a few days later.

According to this Dutch website, he also has a contract with EF for 2026: Maybe he had confirmed the contract extension to some local media before the team made it public?

Costa is 37. I know his 2023 year was great but I was weary of his signing for 2024. Time catches us all.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. But there's no way the team only has 16 riders under contract for 2025 at the moment. I'm not expecting them to announce the full team but it's just silly they haven't announced even one signing or contract extension, yet.

Sometimes I feel like EF is the team that cares about their fans the least. A few years ago I stopped following their twitter because they didn't even post anything noteworthy.

I checked this thread for September 2023, and most of the announcements were made in the last week.
So, things are now a few days later than last year, but it is still September.
