Well, at least Moser landed a top 10 spot!

Re: Cannondale Pro Cycling

Moser is turning into a consistent time-trial specialist, which is a thing I wouldn't expect from him few years ago.

Uran rode average TT today, but not as poor as his other TT showings this year.

I didn't expect anything from the rest. Maybe Navardauskas disappointed slightly but not much.

Curious to see what the team will perform like when they face first difficulties of the race. I still can't get over my disappointment because of Woods crashing at LBL.

Will Navardauskas sprint for lower end of top10 tomorrow?

Re: Cannondale Pro Cycling

Interestingly, Craddock has been named as a team leader for Tour of California. He deserved that, but the fact that Talansky is not even said to be a co-leader says a lot about a position he is in now. In the last few years he would be mentioned as one of the leaders in pretty much every stage race he participates in, unless he comes back from an injury or something like that. Now the team doesn't trust him anymore. He is also moved to Tour de Suisse instead of Dauphine. His actual racing schedule is totally different to what was planned at the beginning of the season.
It was intended to be:
San Luis, Algarve, Paris-Nice, Catalunya, Romandie, Dauphine, Tour de France
But it will actually be:
San Luis, Tour International La Provence, Paris-Nice, Romandie, California, Tour de Suisse, Tour de France

Re: Cannondale Pro Cycling

They don't have that much of a choice considering how strong team they sent to Giro.

And no matter what poor his results look like since Dauphine 2014, he was still their most consistent rider in mountains in 2015 Tour.

He never did well in California, though, which is strange since it's a race that should suit him.

Formolo looks bound for the white jersey, I can only see Jungels potentially beating him in that competition..
Let's see if Jungels can channel his inner Andy Schleck (the last Luxembourgish wearer of the white jersey all the way back in 2007).

I don't see Jungels as a thread in the high mountains, maybe(?) Kudus could put up a fight in the high mountains, but Formolo should be the big favourite.

Formolo has to be the favourite unless Uran really is a contender then he might get used up by the 3rd week, Kudus is a good chance and should have more opportunities to get away in some breaks, Jungles did do well in the 3rd week of last years Tour and should put time into both Formolo and Kudus in the TT.

Re: Cannondale Pro Cycling

Navardauskas could have done well today, but he either screwed up his positioning or was focused on protecting Rigo, who lost seconds to Valverde and Zakarin anyway.

Clarke for tomorrow? I think it's too hard for him, unless he gets into the early break that will be allowed to take the stage. But I think Movistar will control for Valverde to take bonus seconds, so I don't think he is likely to finish high on tomorrow's stage.

Not particularly worrying, considering that the likes of Nibali, Landa, Majka and Kruijswijk also lost 4 seconds.

Urán lost 14" to the Dumoulin group today, but he put 3" into Valverde and Kruiswijk, and 8" into Landa and Nibali.

Formolo, on the other hand, lost about half a minute to Jungels.

Re: Cannondale Pro Cycling

It's strange that they say it's all for Uran, but they ride the way they did today. Uran was sitting halfway through the peloton all the time. One crash, one sudden acceleration and he doesn't make the first part of the split. Then, when the final climb started, there were 5 Cannondale riders in the 60-men bunch but they were all sitting at the back instead of protecting Uran. And later, when Dumoulin, Pozzovivo and Zakarin attacked, Dombrowski was happily sitting in the bunch instead of trying to close the gap for Uran. It's not like Dombrowski can be saved "just in case", because he was already 13 minutes down in GC.

I hope they will not pay the price for riding like that in the following days.

The team is very capable climbing-wise. 4 men in the top35 and another in the top50 today.
