Great to see Noah Hobbs making the step up to WT with EF. Marin Van den Berg can win a sprint at the end of a hard day, and .1 races, but I think Hobbs might be able to compete in the true bunch sprints. If that is the case, he will be the team’s first big bunch sprinter since Farrar.

Stage 6 of the vuelta has two EF riders in the break and they finished 6th and 9th. That seems reasonable considering the strength of that break.

Madis had a 10th and an 11th in earlier stages.

But will that be the high-water mark for them at this Vuelta?

Darren Rafferty visited the Vuelta team the other night to join them for a couple rounds of rummy

If the goal with this Vuelta was to give all riders a free role and see who deserves to be given new contracts (maybe that wasn’t the goal, but if not I have no idea what the goal was), the results are not great. Mihkels is talented and probably still under contract for next year, but nobody showed much. Maybe Beloki deserves another year or two because he is so young and climbed well at times, but beyond that, nobody really showed themselves. To be honest, I didn’t expect much, but this was bad. Nerurkar has been such a disappointment this year after a very promising neo pro year.

Unfortunately, that seems like the right take on this Vuelta.

I think EF went into Luxembourg thinking big. I was surprised they came up empty handed, no stage wins.
I don't count a third place GC at 2.Pro as very meaningful.

Someone need to get a hold of PCS, and tell them to update Valgren's name:

  • Name: Michael Valgren Andersen

He hasn't been called Andersen for years.

What are you talking about? I don't see Andersen in my post, and I don't see it on PCS.

That part is for full name, you will see that his profile title is 'michael valgrem' but then it puts his full name in the section next to the pic. Same with pello bilbao who has 'pello bilbao lopez de armentea' in that section. Nobody is calling him that. Is just his full name

I know it's for full name. My point is that he hasn't been 'Andersen' for years; he got married, his full name is Michael Valgren Hundahl.

And if you look at Vingegaard's profile, you'll notice they got it right for him.

Cycling gear seems very expensive to me. But I'm not much of a road warrior. My idea of splurging on cycling gear is going to a custom T-shirt stall in a shopping mall and getting the Cinzano logo on a t-shirt

Random question; Agostinacchio is going to be one of the youngest - if the the youngest - men's WT riders ever, isn't he?
His birthday is in December...

His birthday is in September.
Seixas was younger when he turned pro. Aj August too. And there might be others I am forgetting.

Her dob can only be equalled, but as Samu highlighed early this year Carys is not the youngest to race, my memory is failing me, but it was another rider in the female tdu that was the youngest

Yes. Emily Dixon was only 18 years and 19 days old when she started the TDU this year, whereas as Lloyd was 18 and 25 days when she made her debut on Mallorca. At some point there will probably be a younger rider than Lloyd with a "real" pro contract who rides the TDU.
