Just let them officially cancel all the coming races already, instead of spreading this confusing and mysterious BS and giving us some hope that the inevitable will not happen.

So, races were still going on during two world wars, but a virus that has a mortality rate of less than 0.5% for people under 50 manages to be worse.

Guys. Guys! It's perfect!
This way they can basically force the riders to go on the attack all day, so to not be too closely together.

I really want them to do it on Zwift now. Looking forward to a screen, divided into lots of small frames, in each a rider sweating at home, next their crying little children, their excited mothers, their pianos, dining tables, huddles of dirty clothes... filmed by their webcams or a friend with a smartphone in his hand.

Mitchelton Scott will not race until March 22

Skipping the Italian races I understand from a mass panic standpoint (and they will be canceled anyway), but skipping Paris-Nice makes absolutely no sense. The people who made this decision are probably also hoarding toilet paper and instant noodles.

Zwift Strade Bianche should obviously be done outdoor, so riders can have volunteers hit them with a waterhose.

Wondering if it's from higher up cause sponsors don't wanna be "that team that casually strolled through an epidemic"

As for Italy based races i am afraid that the paranoia has won. Best to wait and see what happens with Paris-Nice, as the race is just around the corner.

P.S. If Paris-Nice gets canceled i doubt we will see any racing before April or May, at best.

Flanders will riot if the Belgian classics are touched.

IMHO the big issue is how to avoid the chaos like what happened in the UAE Tour. There's too much uncertainty for teams it a positive case is handled like that. ASO is the most competent organizer so I expect that they will have a good plan in place before Sunday.

Oh, I can see it now. Kids begging their dads for who knows what while dad is trying to complete a race on Zwift, with the web cams showing everything. Don't forget the trophies on shelves somewhere near where the bike is. Plus pictures on the walls and a TV somewhere that the kids are watching cartoons on. LMAO, this could humorous.

Agreed. And what's the deal with the toilet paper anyways? That's disappeared from our shelves in Seattle, but . . . but, this is not an intestinal illness. Also bottled water cleared out--but it's not getting into the water supply!

Here in NC (1 case in Raleigh) it's hand sanitizer that's disappeared from store shelves. But why toilet paper? I get the clorox, bleach, sanitizer, and paper towels, but somethings make no sense. Like when a hurricane is headed this way why people buy refrigerated stuff when the power is likely to go out I have no idea.

The text of the special law is out, we can stop reading rumors and speculations.

Art. 1, point C is the one that regulate sport events:

Lo sport di base e le attività motorie in genere, svolte all’aperto ovvero all’interno di palestre, piscine e centri sportivi di ogni tipo, sono ammessi esclusivamente a condizione che sia possibile consentire il rispetto della raccomandazione di cui all’allegato 1, lettera d);

No race has been officially cancelled yet.
However the government decree explicitly says outdoor sport events should take place only if organizers can guarantee there will be no fans.
