Or really smart by BMC and Sky to let one favourite take himself out of overall contention on the first stage.
Well in P-n he stayed away with like 1 minute on the peloton with 30k to go...

Francisco Perez is the Movistar guy who's hurt bad.

P.S. By bad I meant, conscious, but taken on a stretcher, probably concussion kinda bad, not real real bad

Perez. Looks to be out.
Tshopp limps back into the game.
Valentin Iglinskiy was the Astana man on the deck.

Did Tchopp and Iglinsky actually go back riding? I saw Tchopp limping around standing next to Perez, and Iglinsky on the far side just standing, maybe waiting for a new bike?
Then I had to take a phone call and missed what happened afterwards

In any case, hats off to De Gendt for trying, since otherwise he'd have close-to-zero chance to win the tour with sprint time bonuses and the remaining ITT.

Another bad crash.
Seb Minard Ag2r and Dan Sesma EE.
Minard looks to be shoulder and out.
Coming out of a roundabout.

Does anyone believe De Gendt can hold on ? He's shown some great stuff in PN and was great at the end of le Tour. But has he been able to retain that form ? :/

Took me a while to figure out who you're referring to.

With this kind of super common surnames (basically every surname that ends in -ez), the surname on its own is almost meaningless. We have to say the name too, hence Fran Pérez, otherwise it doesn't ring a bell for a Spaniard.

There's always a possibility, especially with De Gendt. But it will depend more one the peloton than on De Gendt himself. Maybe the rain can be of service to him and his friends.

just some guy said:
Davis looked liked like a guy who doesn´t care anymore.

1.53 time is coming down fastish

Yeah, that looks bad.

Well, guess we all know who Gilbert is signing for for next season then.
