Greipel takes it on the line.....watching the last four kms from the air you simply knew that something had to go wrong. Riders went over sidewalks, over the middle of roundabouts, there was barging and bunching to such an extent that a serious crash was virtually unavoidable, given the size of the bunch on a street that was too narrow for so many riders together.

EBH got boxed in again, he still isn't a great tactical sprinter.

Probably also not feeling 100% just yet either. I was expecting him to open the sprint when his lead out dropped him off but he went to the wheel of Eisel instead. I think that if he had been feeling 100% he would have just went for it there instead.

Edit: I guess the headwind could have been part of it too though.

The leadout was far too early considering the headwind. But where were Swift and Henderson? They were supposed to lead him out but I only saw G and Flecha.

Phinney looked good but he burned himself up going too early in the strong headwind so did Farrar. Greipel played it the best and he took up his sprint very late. seems like phinney is a pretty decent sprinter. LOL at gilbert working for BMC:D

It seemed to be a narrow finish, I reckon Greipel just saw the gap left by Galymzianov and went for it without really noticing Bos behind him - imo, he didn't really make funny moves jeopardising the others. He went for it and won, if Bos didn't get space to pass, that's his problem.

I got too spoiled by Poland's later finishes. I once was just too late for this.

Greipel won in a crash filled stage, it seems?

I didn't see the whole stage, but as far as I'm aware the only crash occured inside the last three kms, when the complete peleton was jostling for position on a (imho) too narrow road.

Greipel wins.

I think Bos was the fastest but he had to come from 15th position  boxed in. That's what you get with no teammates. Good tactic Rabo

Maybe, but Greipel came from way down as well. Impressive sprint

Where are the Dutch commentators from? That r isn't standard, is it?
Were you watching an L1 stream? Those guys are from Limburg, so they're practically German.

No idea what Rabo were doing in the final 10 k except diminishing their sprinter's chances.

Bos was passing Greipel and at that moment Greipel steered to the right (to pass the guys in front) so Bos had to hold still (to prevent being thrown into the barriers).
Not maybe, fact. Watch heli replay

Not Greipels fault tho. Just road too narrow.
