It's a better parcours but this still ends in a sprint if sprint teams want one and give their sprinters a better team. Or if Jayco doesn't burn every other sprinterteams doms, and their own.

For example, surrounding De Lie here with only 5 guys and not even guys who can go over a hill is just stupid knowing these are the races they need to take points in.

Well, it's official. Denmark has hereby been extended down to Frankfurt.

I don't think so. There was just a Dane who won a race there, that doesn't normally entail that all land from that city up to the country of the winner gets annexed by the winner's country.

SKA's sprint has been amazing this season, another win in a one-day race for Alpecin, they are the new Quick-Step.

Why was DeBuyst attacking the chasing peleton with 2kms to go ? It makes no sense at all.

He was not, it was the Alpecin riders who slowly let him get a gap and there was nobody else to take over.

Yes, but more teams could also bring puncheurs and it could all balance out.

Have you seen the result of the U23 race?
Denmark would be pretty big if we annexed land every time we got a win.

In addition to everything else the German commentary was extremely silly. Blaming the lack of cooperation for the diminishing gap all the time and making a huge fuss about Marcellusi not working.
on Eurosport? On HR Naß was too busy going through the 77 pages of cultural information he prepared for the race.

So they‘ve fixed the racing, next time they should fix the broadcast and the motopacing

I don't get why we still need the big motorbikes with 2 guys on it. What about an electric bike with a remotely controlled small camera. Or something. There's always a huge convoy of motorbikes everywhere. Remind me of like 20 motorbikes that paced Pantani in the Milano-Sanremo.

Tbf Lotto don't have that many guys who can both get over a hill and commit meaningfully to a chase compared to a lot of the other teams their size, with them racing Romandie too (which I'm not sure they should have) it's inevitably going to be slim pickings here. They're going to need to find a way to improve his support in these races, especially if they want him to stay after his contract is up at the end of next year.

Now keep the route and see teams adapt. This could be a great route for the Ardenne domestiques or the Giro stage hunters to get something else out of there form. The front group had a few Giro participants and of course with SKA and Hirschi big names who are often in the shadow of there captains.

Still also very good for Degenkolb and Kristoff to come in with the second group after such a hard race. Of course it's sad for degenkolb that he couldn't fight for the win but the change of the route is good for german cycling. Zimmermann and Steinhauser made the front group. The other emerging talent shoudl also like that kind of parcours (Herzog, Engelhardt, Heiduk, Hessmann) as no one of them is a pure sprinter but more in favor of a hilly terrain. Also you could guys like Kämna, Arndt and Schachmann target that race in the future. Next time around maybe Lotto brings Kron and van Gils to this race. Uno-X could bring Johannessen and Traen. There are still WT points uo for grabs und you can't get them much easier.
