Peloton at more than a minute? Maybe 2? That would mean the end to Jungels contest to win here:(

nope Jungels was in the second group. At some point there was a 25 men group with Jungels in it that attacked the peloton in the echelons and joined the break. So he should be ~30 secs behind.

It's cold in the south of France.
Wouldn't be surprised if some of the higher parts of the race will get cancelled due to snow or bad weather.

yes it must be terrible situation at 300 metres of height

gusts of wind all the way up to 85km/H today, even if the official temperature at Besseges is 1C this afternoon, felt temperature is going to be -8C ! They are going to freeze today on a more demanding route

they should start in 20 minutes.... nothing about cancellation yet?

Hopefully they can get it going indeed! Respect to whoever wins in those horrible conditions. :)

Nimes (just above sea level): maximum today 3?C.
1 ?C difference per 150 m.

Yes, completely ridiculous.

BOTD is Thomas Vaubourzeix (Veranclassic-Eko?), Evaldas Siskevicius (Team Marseille 13-KTM) et Tim Kerkhof (Roompot)

Evaldas pretty active in this here race. Guess he's used to the cod. ;)

Or maybe not. Looks like they are going crazy again today. The three had 3'30 lead at some point but Lotto started chasing and they're caught again.

Not really, average of 29.8 kph in the first race hour, the bunch even stopped sometime in protest over the weather conditions.

yep indeed, Lotto did chase down the break really fast, but now it seems nobody wants to race because of the weather.

1 rider breakaway with 4'55 on the slow peloton.

the peloton already stopped 3 times, and the average speed is around 28 km/h

they cross the finish line a few times today. the race directors will certainly shorten the stage. strong winds and cold

So the riders stopped a couple of times, only Tim Kerkhof rode away from the peloton and is riding in front alone a few minutes ahead. They're saying that at this rate the race will finish after the sun sets.

So the guy out on his own is protesting at the peloton, the peloton want to shorten the stage

Not sure if this translation is correct

Some light on the judgments of the pack : because of the cold , the riders did not want to make the big loop before the final circuit of the day. The comissaires have answered that those who wanted not to do so could ... but they would be put out of the race .

Does this mean that those who don't want to do the big circuit are disqualified?

yes, so finally the race is going on as planned, all the kms of the stage are being ridden. no shorter stage.

If that's an automated translation, it seems very accurate (I only found weird the "arrEts" translation which is plain and simply: "Stops").
And I understand the same: hors-course=DSQ

It means that the race directors said that those who don't want to race the loop won't be forced to do so - but they'll be disqualified if they decide to skip it.
