Expected Soldado in the squad, better striker than Negredo. Don't now Llorente fits in the team, he's not an energetic striker like Torres.

He brings different options though..good in the air and can hold the ball very good.

Our defence is a worry...fabio, nesta days are gone not that the forward line and midfield is very good either. I hope pirlo have a good tournament and feed good balls to strikers...i wish he will start di natale..he can pull wide and know how to find space.

So... Any Czech people up in here today?

Not a Czech, but Nedved used to be one of my favorite players so I always cheer for the Czech team. They've come a long way down since the days of Poborsky, Nedved, Koller, Ujfalusi and Jankulovski. Now they've got only Rosicky and Cech worth mentioning. Baros is still there too but is past his prime.

Are there any major talents in Czech Republic that could soon repeat the feat of 96?

Looking forward to this game. Russia were really impressive against Italy last week.

Just wanted to know I think you said that you were a Spartak fan. How is Aiden McGeady playing over there? When I have seen him I think he has done OK. I have criticised him a lot in the past like a lot of people over here for his final ball. He is great at beating a full-back but that side of the game leaves him down at times. Judging by the Bosnia last week when we played them he got man of the match and his final ball for once was good as he set up Long's goal with a great cross.

He was great for a while, then he got an injury and actually first part of the season he'd sit on the bench, rarely come out as a sub towards then end. Latter part of the season he was back at being a mainstay there.

The level of defense for a lot of Russian teams is pretty low, so he's been a monster (when recovered from an injury) at long dribbles by the sidelines, or touch lob passes in the zone. He's never quite been the finisher though, and Spartak unfortunately has been lacking that finisher at the striker level until the resurgence of Dzyuba (injured Welliton and Emenike are more one-on-one type of strikers).

So all-in-all, Spartak started this season dead last after few games, dangled mostly around 5-6 for most of it, and finished up strong in second place (Champion's league spot) not in the least part due to McGeady's return to strong play.

Daneil De Rossi says 99.9% sure that he will play in cb

I've lost a little touch to the Italian league and therefore Italian Players in general. There isn't any better option than playing De Rossi as a CB? That doesn't sound good at all. But looking at the squad, except for Chiellini the CB don't look impressive at all, just looking on how much they are worth according to transfermarkt.de. Plus I do remember Barzagli as being solid but not impressive at all. Is Bonnuci good?

Barzagli is not 100% feet... bonnuci is okay not great. Its funny to see an italian team with a dodgy defence.

Yes it is. I like it though tbh. ;)

From what I read you'll play a Diamond in midfield, how did that come along in recent games (not counting the one against russia)

Of course! But I said that because I don't expect him to be in the line up.

That is the most pathetic piece of **** decision I have ever ****ing seen.

Fwiw I think Poland fully deserve the lead, but I can't stand this bs ref dictating the game himself rather then the two teams.

If I was in charge he would never officiate in such a big game again

The Polish have completely failed after the red card of Greece.
First the 1-1, now this...

How can you screw this up? First 20 mins Poland were brilliant...

Where's Poland's defense? Non-existent so far in the second (haven't seen the first)

Nice save. Hoping for a tie :D

It's always the same, ref thinks "I'm not important enough!" and decides to do something about it.

What the hell are Poland doing atm?

I get a feeling people are gonna talk about this about the two South Korean games in 2002, personally looking at the two incidents (red card and no penalty) I just think this referee was not trying to be malicious, or give advantage to the home team, he just ****ing sucks

Wow, Poland's defense looked bad with Greeks ending up (or almost ending up, like at the end there) behind the whole line time in and out. They better smarten up or make some changes if they want to make it out of the group. Otherwise in 4 days Kerzhakov is going to have a party back there with Arshavin

Wow, dramatic game! Good start to the championship imo :D. (Don't care about the quality of play. Even the Brazilians played distinctly non-samba control football in 2010.)

lol viera now an expert on race relations in Warsaw. Having walked out of his 6 star hotel to the local cafe.

Feels Poland is "uneducated"

Anyone have a link to his thesis about this?

Hopefully that result will shut the Polish media up now.

Would be sweet if they gave the footballers some hell for being so ****, but i fear hero worship has no flip side.

Especially the goalkeeper who was hopeful that they would win the whole thing, who is most responsible for Poland not winning that match.

Viera is one of the biggest big-mouth chumps going around. Never liked him, or his attitude.

I expect some good stuff from Russia.

I'd be very cautious about expectations here. Russia never plays well first game, usually fully waking up by game three (when it's usually too late); 2002 being the only exception since the Soviet times

DZAGA!!!!

Wow, only took them 15 minutes to wake up a bit this time.
Team looked horrible in the beginning, I was ready to turn it off until second half :D

Cech did not look good on that play, btw
