Teddy wins again, surprise! He's just too good. Evenepoel by far the best from the rest but couldn't match the Slovenian. Congrats to Seixas on the bronze, great finale by him! The guy is a monster in the making, it seems.
Remco knows Remco so when he got jumped if he thought he could go he would have. Still pretty impressive that after Remco settled down, he gets in a groove and kept the gap at a minute.. For a long time by himself.. The guy is really great. Pogacar might have lost the ITT but when he gets a gap in a road race he does an ITT off the front for @70k..the guy is fantastic.. I am excited for new chapter for Remco at Bora.

The EC and the WC confirmed that in the last few dozens kilometers of a hard enough race Pogacar is almost impossible to catch, even by the most aerodynamic guy ever. This EC actually had plenty of flattish sections to chase (was more favorable than WC in this regard) and still the gap was stagnating until the final 1-2 km where Pog slowed down substantially.

In 2 years they'll be calling him goat, in 4 years he'll be washed.
I hope you are wrong.. This kid really goes deep and he is starting with good tools, he won l'Avenier by winning both TTs..Del Toro and others are still working on that while Seixas is already really good.. His race sense today was outstanding.. I really enjoyed it.

Who needs French pressure.. I watched in English and Spanish and the TNT female announcing that precious Prince Paul will be neck and neck with Pogacar in a year.. Guy is still a teenager and the weight of the world already on his shoulders
Everybody waiting for the Chosen One who will bring balance to the Force.

You are right, I am sort of mixing things Remco does a strange thing.. He gets in a chase, starts feeling them out and often decides that he should go alone. Few races in a row.. I wish he had to waste himself chasing Pogacar's wheel and blown up.. I know 2nd is impressive but I would have enjoyed him trying and getting a DNF...
And for sure Pogacar backed off a bit in the last 20k

So now, the guessing is all about on which climb Pogacar will launch the winning attack at Lombardia: Zambla at 60km to go or Ganda, at 30km?

This year, they're using the 2023 course where Pogi went at 30km.

Horrible predicament to be in... having to choose between Pogacar and someone French
Not for me.. I don't remember meeting anyone from Slovenia..don't have any favorite foods from there that I am aware of..
Can't recall drinking any spirits or beer from Slovenia.. I certainly would if given a chance..
But France!..I love everything about the place.. Food, people, they even have a few decent flavors of beer, beaches are awesome..
Mountains and skiing are epic..if I won the lottery the next day I am buying a house in Morzine.
The second thing I would get for my lottery loot is a woman, @25-35 that looks like 80s Beatrice Dalle to read me a stack of phone books in French.. Yes I have spent time thinking about it..as much as I like his racing , I like that Pogacar lives in Monaco ..

Course was too similar to the Worlds.

Course was too hard, too selective.

On this type of course, there is Tadej.......Remco.......the rest.

Paul Seixas is living up to the hype.

Ayuso is not living up to the hype in his own head.

Vingegaard is a strange fish.

What a boring race
Well, if the roles had been different, then probably not. If Seixas was the leader who attacked with 75 k to go, and Pogacar was the chaser, then it would have been exciting.

The whole problem is that the top riders play the same role and the races follow the same terribly predictable script every f... time. The last two hours are basically pointless.

Well done, Seixas! And also Paris-Pants, he came in 16th, but seeing as only 17 riders finished it seems like an accomplishment nonetheless.

Attacking on Ganda (which is difficult enough to do the damage) 35 km to go is the most likely scenario. UAE will be drilling hard till that moment so that the gaps explode when Teddy goes. Weak team is not a problem anymore there and long solo is not needed.

But even an attack on Passo Della Crocetta (80 km to go) shouldn't be that shocking considering his form.

Del Toro to setup the attack, hardly anybody will be left and then Pogacar drops everybody.

Del Toro will sit in the wheel of the followers and clinch second.

Seixas has less punch than del Toro though. And Del Toro also has a decent track on other* road surfaces.

Will be very interesting to follow the development of these two and how they will compare to eachother over the years as well as against the current top GC riders.

The strongest two as expected, but Paul Seixxas getting bronze is magnificent
