Fun fact: without Pog the race would be as boring with Remco soloing. We can only have exciting, close-knit races when both are absent.

We need variation. Not only tight knit stuff or 70kms solos. Unpredictability. I don't want to know up front what will happen.

That's why I find it funny when a Remco fan keeps complaining about how boring the race is. Not that I don't agree it's boring because it is. It's just funny when it's a Remco's fan (or Vingegard's fans in stage races).

I see VDP being able to compete with him for the next 2-3 years at PR, but I think Pog will smoke him at De Ronde; of course I hope I'm wrong, but Pog is 3.5 years younger than Mathieu and VDP is right at the age where that is going to start to matter when it comes to explosiveness. I just don't see anyone touching this version of Tadej come the last Kwaremont/Paterberg.

Yeah, I agree age is in favour of Pog, but we're just on slightly part of the scale otherwise. I see Pog with basically no chance of dropping VDP at PR (without smth happening to him ofc) the next 2 years, and then give him maybe a 5% chance in the sprint.

Incredible battle on the climb, Scaroni hanging on for dear life, reminds me a bit of Michael Matthews getting attacked by Bettiol in Mende where it feels like it's taking years off his life to hold on.
