Eurosport commentary

Never heard before of Paris: "It looks very much like Glasgow"
This reminds me of one of my favourite movie quotes:

I got to listen to Jose Been (with Brian Smith), and not Kirby. Which is almost as bad. The commentary was mostly about which Olympic sports she enjoyed watching.

he must be doing just the English language comms for the organisers again then, dont know why Eurosport dont just take that as a feed, theyve got highlights here if you feel you are missing out

and yeah saw she was more interested in the Olympics, than the race shes being paid to talk about.

One of the few times I flipped over from the Women's race they were discussing how to pronounce Team Coop........riveting commentary for sure.

let me guess she was probably claiming its team Coop (as in a chicken coop) and Smithy was saying nah its the Co-orp. as in cooperative.

I had to smile when Tour of Britain posted this as I instantly thought is this what all the name accent mangling commentators on Eurosport should be forced to listen to

and Jose would still use the Dutch way of saying Anna, for Anna Henderson

The opposite, actually. :D Smith said (chicken) coop and Been corrected him (though he had actually used both ways earlier, to hedge his bets). She might be a bad commentator, but she's not too bad with languages.

Regarding that Instagram post, it's interesting to hear Magnus Sheffield (who is half Norwegian after all, and speaks Norwegian) using the Norwegian pronunciation of Magnus, instead of how an American would normally say it.

I'm surprised Smithy went that way, the Co-op (Co-op not coop) are the UKs equivalent of a 7-eleven. There's even one in Paisley.

And yes I thought Magnus name was interesting to hear too from him. There you go though next time he's in a race we'll wait to see if Hatch and the crew took note.

He said Mauw-nus instead of Mac-nus?
