Really notable that Albasini and Matthews have shortened heavily in the betting markets for Stage 2. On paper this final climb would be too difficult for them (especially given they were distanced on Stage 1) but the money makes me think someone may know something (perhaps it's not as hard as the official profile suggests).

Last climb's 1200 m are tough but then a 6 km descent to finish - I'd have a bet on the same two who came 1st & 2nd on stage 1.

Yes especially interesting to see 888 sport are short on both of them (Matthews 4/1, Albasini 6/1) but bet365 not so much (10/1 and 9/1 respectively). Maybe the former know something we don't... Ala still rightfully favourite though

Wow, didn't see those 888 prices, they're absurdly short. I've backed them both at 25-1 which feels more realistic but I hope 888's assessment is right. :)

The sprinters have no chance today. The last climb is 3,4 km at 8,4%. The climb is easy at the beginning and then rises 12,1% over 1 km and 9,6% the next.

I suspect their will be different riders fighting out the finish today - Some riders who are not chasing GC saved themselves for today.

Alaphilippe is the favorite again today. It's slightly less steep so for Roglic it's a little harder to just power away but he's still the 2nd favorite for me today

It's not really less steep, that's the problem of just looking the avegares

This is the final climb

BTW the stage in underway and for a momen the peloton splitted in two halves but they are together now. They are riding fast and not allowing anyone going ahead, if they mantain this pace it will be hard for some riders in the end

Edit: My bad, it seems that the peloton is still split in two

The official sites says that the climb is longer (3.4 km)...

Yes, that's because the climb follows with another road that doesn't show up in my profile, I just wanted to show the steep climbs

The difference between both peloton groups goes up to 1'18''

There is no many infomartion about the riders in both groups. At the back Bora, Cofidis and Ag2r are working to close the gap but it keeps increasing, eitb should be live in 15 minutes

1º LOPEZ (SKY,186) 3 ptos

2º STETINA (TFS,207) 2 ptos

3º VUILLERMOZ (ALM,17) 1 pto
