So, Stage 3, for the breakaway, right? Who might be trying?
I was thinking it would be a bunch sprint
But what team is going to chase the break? Matthews is the only rider in this race I'd consider a bunch sprinter.
BMC might fancy it for the reanimated corpse of Simon Gerrans? Nelson Soto for Caja Rural is a bunch sprinter so if they miss the break they may try to bring it back for the TV time even if they only expect a placement from Nelson. Euskadi-Murias might as well, Edu Prades has a decent finish but Enrique Sanz is more likely. I'd expect them to get in the break though, which might scupper any hopes the likes of Sunweb would have for cooperation.
Betancur and Felline also have decent sprints but I don't know that Movistar or Trek would feel confident enough in a result to help Sunweb. It really seems like a breakaway win.

Speaking of Felline, what's going on with him? He looked like he might have promise in the classics after last year but he's been nowhere this season.

For Movistar it would more likely be Rojas who would be sprinting, he and Barbero are technically their sprinters.

Great track design so far. It's funny.. the racing is often more aggressive with less uphill finishes.

The first couple of stages have been awesome and action-packed. The Itzulia never disappoints.

Definitely. TDF could be much better if they put 3-4 LBL GDL type stages.

De La Cruz and Kwia in a duo chasing the leading group.

The Itzulia never disappoints. Even on a "flat" stage.

Kwiat goes
He is sacrificing himself for De La Cruz, it seems.

But they could double up by letting Kwia win the stage and gain time in the GC for De La Cruz.

Looks like Sky learned to properly study the route in basque country, they definitely learned the lesson from their disasterous racing in 2012
