Is that list right, ACF?
I make that about 40 days of racing, rather than the reported 33-35.
Certainly a superior schedule if correct.

the BMC team is still poor and will lose time in the time trials. evans will battle away but lose more time in the mountains with no team support and he isnt the time trialist he used to be, so about 5th at best

I think it is a good thing though the Cycling news article is an old one.
His program is

Giro Del Friuli
Monte Paschi Eroica
Tirenno Adriatico
Catalunya
Pais Vasco
Amstel
Fleche
Romandie
Dauphine

The only thing I am not happy about is he is probably skipping Liege. Dump Amstel for Liege. Amstel is the around the same distance so that is not an issue. Do Liege which he has a good chance of at least reaching the podium let alone the top step

Anyway, I think if he prepares well he should definetly have a good chance of taking out the tdf title.

That's even heavier than Contador's old program...

Algarve
Paris-Nice
Vuelta a Castilla y Leon
Criterium International
Fleche
Luik
Dauphine

....

This year's program is a lot more sensible than previous ones. Last year's looked to be based around the Giro with the Tour added on as though BMC had not been expecting to get the invite. Hopefully he will have learnt to go (relatively) easy in the lead up events especially Dauphine.

His chances are very slim. Both Schlecks would need to fall off their bikes or get sick, Basso would have to burn out and BMC's form would need to improve considerably for Evans to win.

I think he has a good chance, it's a long way to Paris and surely he's used up all his bad luck by now.

I don't agree, Evans is better than the older Schleck. But unless there is an extremely strange event I doubt Evans would even get on the podium

I always get the impression he doesn't really like Amstel. Too nervous, too much road furniture. But apparently I'm wrong.

Nah poor Cuddles... this year He wont have a win... He could make top 10 in Le Tour but besides that nothing... He wont win in FW... last year He could take advantage of his exp in the Mur beating a Contador who attacked 20secs early, this year I cant see anyone beating Contador in the Mur... but lets see what happens.

I wouldn't be shocked if he won either Catalunya or Romandie. Those races don't tend to have the starting fields that other do... he could be the most accomplished stage racer targeting both.

That doesn't seem light at all. I would think it would/should be that without either Pais Vasco or T-A.

Yeah, Catalunya has this second tier climber called Contador as favorite or something. How pathetic is that.

Its all soooooooo early days.

Yeah. Evans pre tour build up looks solid if it goes all to plan. A good classification ride is what is needed and a day or two extra in yellow compared to last seasons Le Tour would be most welcome.

I lost a few hard earned notes on Evans to win the Tour last year so I will be watching him with more interest this season round.

Omg, let's not not hold the race and give the trophy to clenboy already.

It's hard to talk against win rates.
I'm sorry, but it's a fact.

He won 14/19 stage races he entered since 2007.

-1 because he got stuck behind a crash in Valencia while leading the race(lost to Valverde).

-2 Dauphiné's. They're too close to the Tour to actually go all out for like he would do in a race with a better date(P-N or Catalonië)

-1 Paris-Nice 2009. The famous bonk, a rookie mistake. Doubt it will happen again.

He also lost Vuelta a castilla y Leon 2009 to Leipheimer fair and square.

I've only counted back to 2008 and I'm already at 11/19.

Just using Wikipedia, but I'm not really counting criterium international as a stage race or anything(and even there I have an excuse ready :p).

What else am I missing?

Those were the races I missed.

But the Contador article on wiki is pretty good, I've been working on it my self xD

But still, that's an impressive win rate/podium rate. Certainly if you take a look as to why he lost some stage races.

Evans is a chance of a podium finish but I think there riders who have bigger chances so I think it would be a bit of a surprise. I doubt going in with less racing is going to make him a good enough climber to win. I hope I am wrong though and Evans will destroy the field. GO CADEL!!!!!!!

You're going to jinx him or to turn most everybody against him. Tone it down a wee bit.
