Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

Roglic didn’t attack when it was the 3 of them; he attacked when there was a group, including Landa et al. Unlike on stage 16, when Roglic let Vingegaard fly, Kuss and Vingegaard chased Roglic down. Then Roglic didn’t ease off when Kuss popped. However, he was very far back from Kuss at that point, unlike Vingegaard, who looked back, saw Kuss dropping, and continued on with Roglic. Vingegaard did a great job of shaping the narrative after the fact, I have to say.
There are a few things I don't agree with here, but it's pointless, as I said to @froom

In fact Kuss was the one that closed the gap to Roglic with Vingegaard on his wheel the rest just couldn't follow other than a strong Landa. If Kuss doesn't respond at that moment and Jonas stays with him then Roglic gains what? maybe 30-40 seconds on both of them, and they jump the rest at the end for a few more seconds. Teamwork well executed. Vingo and Roglic near equal time in second and third, everybody happy. Maybe? I think Kuss panicked. By thjs time in the race he didn't want to lose any more time to either of his teammates so he chased Roglic when just the day before he sat back when Jonas attacked. Then he had a bad moment and lost the wheels.

You guys are seriously still talking about the same thing as 2 months ago, huh? Let me help: Before all this good/bad teamwork (according to Zeeman) took place, Roglic was a solid second Visma rider in GC. After that, he was third. The rest is just a bunch of guys saying b******…

He can hardly be proclaimed a villain in this story when he’s the only one who actually lost a position in GC due to team tactics. In the end he played along. Not that he got any thanks for that…

anyone else excited for the upcoming Tour Down UNder

Do you have Rog over Vingo and Pogi? If not, then you have to pick him over Remco. aka, might not even make the podium.
Interesting logic. But then we have to pick him over Adam Yates aka might not even make top 4. But then we have… you see where this is going, right? Once you establish his pecking position (which is 3rd, comfortably) you can’t just say: Heck, that’s almost 4th. It’s also almost 2nd…

1-vingegaard
2-pogacar
3-roglic

Theres is some distance between each one of them. Pogacar is far from vingegaard, and roglic is far from pogacar. It’s very clear at the moment.
Sitting in our armchairs now with 100% hindsight you could say this order is 2023 GT guys. Note that numbers 2, 3 have had some serious orthopedic issues and #1 raced a fairly singular goal and achieved it without mishap. That 2, 3 accomplished anything near what they did should give 1 pause on his confidence. They will all be going at him first before they worry too much about lesser rated competitors. And then the wild card from Belgium will change everyones' sense of pecking order even without completing this race should he choose to test his limits. It's going to be interesting right from the start and, hopefully; the gravel stage won't cause a massive issue and leave us with the Yates' and Mas contesting the top spot.

In a way if the Vuelta got Roglic to leave JV then that was good imo

He needs to be the leader at the Tour and that was never going to happen while still at JV

He now has a strong team and is sole leader and has the chance to race Jonas and Pog for the Tour and has the option however slim to win it before he retires
Indeed, an ambitious athlete has to have a go at it. Even if it seems quite clear to us on the outside that he will be riding for 3rd, but that's still well within Any Given Sunday distance.

Current betting odds. This surprised me as I would have thought Roglic ahead of Remco.
