A casual Rogla fan will tell you you have to look at it with your heart, otherwise you are doing it wrong. It's the heart, on what got us all here in the first place. It was always about full range of emotions and not spreadsheets. Faith is something i see you lack too. Try it out sometimes. Stuff the champions are made of. And boy is Rogla a true champion.
Fairytales don't help Rogla winning the Tour.

The 'heart' says we should just want to see Rog finish the Tour with a smile on his face. When's the last time that happened? 2017?

It doesn't matter where he finishes as long as he's happy. Embrace the platitude and cliché guys because in this case it's totally bang on the money.

When a rider has a ratio of sad ending - sad ending - DNF - DNF - DNF over the 5 Tours he's taken part in (his 2018 through to 2024 TdF's), I think his fans should cut him some slack and just roll with the punches without expecting anything tbh.

I'm not convinced Roglic is in decline - the way he clawed back time from O'Connor in the Vuelta showed he's still got it.

Of course and that is mostly ageism talk anyway. Due to ageing population more and more education on this subject will be needed in the future.

But it's only 50/50 he finishes a GT.

Actually, 5/5 it's more of a win/DNF ratio, chances Rogla will finish a GT are statistically substantially higher.

An interview with Primož Čerin, first Slovenian to finish the Tour and doing that 39 years ago. A confidant of Rogla, ever since they met at the Tour of Slovenia 2015, the edition Rogla won still riding for a Slovenian team Adria Mobil. Talking about some of the more commonly discussed topics regarding Rogla and beyond.

A bit of trivia, another edition of most serious bicycle race in Slovenia just finished, Goni Pony.

New record was set riding up Vršič on a Pony (bike) and what is interesting is current ski jumping world record holder Domen Prevc was one of the attendees and got dropped, finished 23 minutes behind the winner.

As Tour of Slovenia just finished, some summer reading, after all Rogla is preparing for his summer holidays, this year the Tour, on what happens when an amateur cyclist, journalist by trade, wants to become a pro road cyclist for a day and undertakes Golte.

Spoiler alert gruppetto is called "kripl bataljon".

Pretty much agree with all this. It was the same with Contador in later years. He couldn't stay on his bike, couldn't avoid the random off day (like that first mountain stage in his final Vuelta where he dropped a couple minutes despite being arguably the best climber in the race after that), didn't command the same respect in the peloton, couldn't stay focused, and, on top of that (and not unrelated to all that), he couldn't avoid ill fortune. That's where Roglic is now.
This. One day Alberto could shine with some of his former luster, the next he was on the ground.

As much as I Love Rog I can't see him beating the mutants. If he finishes the race and says 'I did my best, I'm Happy' that will make me happy no matter where he finishes. Any successes he achieves will be pluses for me. Just Don't Fall!
