"There is no financial fund planned for the competition, nor will the competitors receive any prizes just for their participation," the official office of the event replied to our inquiry.

No specific mention of "appearance fees", but that could just be a translation thing.

That said, not sure how or why 4 of the top riders in the world would do an event like this for free. Interesting, but I'm no buying the apparent claims of the organizers.

Just speculation here and here, but it makes zero sense that these guys would ride for nothing.

Maybe sponsors did it directly without the organisation being an intermediate.

Rogla won Catalunya with a long ranger too, all of this great cyclists have plenty of tools in the toolbox. As for their signature move, they differ. Hopefully RBH will bring Rogla closer in the 2026 season, for Pogi to feel Rogla breathing down his neck and to send shivers down the spine, that moment, when Rogla again initiating the stomp. We'll see.
