Peak Rogic could have won this multiple times and maybe even put Valverde to shame. Now it’d be a nice deterrent for Evenepoel attack while he sits on waiting.

This is indeed true, when Valverde was only 41 ;)

Rogla was only 31.

Valverde 5
Roglic 0

Rogla competed with the king of La Flèche Wallonne only once and came on top. Lets not forget that next year Valverde finished second.

But anyway, RBH currently i guess doesn't see much value in that. Currently people with your mindset, on how Rogla shouldn't even win it, as that would represent a problem, are running the show. So lets give it some time, Rogla is in no hurry.

And Ala finished fourth, does that mean Roglic would finish fifth? Kuss beat Roglic in 2023 Vuelta, does that mean he wins 2019-2022 if the team supported him? Lipo beat Roglic by 14.5 mins, does that mean he’d best Roglic in all of Roglic’s GT wins? Or even better, does that mean Rogic needs to support Lipo and Evenepoel based off past results?

@SHAD0W93

What that means is Rogla has beaten Valverde at La Flèche Wallonne. As for the rest we will have to wait for some future edition, as neither Rogla or Remco are participating this year.

The fact that he does not race fleche wallone is an unforgivable tragedy. The startlist reads like a French u23 race, no aliens, and it's the one big race he can maybe still add to his palmares. It wouldn't be easy, but what's the point of continuing your career if you don't do this stuff and try to maximise your legacy.

Just a massive shame and a big let down from roglic himself, and from the team. Hopefully we can find away to citizens arrest denk and bring him to justice.

With remco out the team doesn't even have any good leaders for the race so I really don't get it.

@Ilmaestro99

It's a split schedule team and Rogla is focused on Romandie. Even over there Rogla can't rely on being the team leader, meaning any capable team member will rode away on first opportunity possible, the rest not being there in the first place. So, it is what it is.

All in all the idea is to race good and to crack Pogi. One can still find some joy in that.

He does look on the downturn, but not all is lost. I have noticed a recent trend of footballers joining unlikely outsiders and subsequently becoming 'un-washed'. Jordan Henderson at Brentford, Dean Henderson with his cap at Palace, Xhaka at Sunderland, I was watching a good showing from Sweden a few weeks ago and to my surprise none other than Graham Potter himself was stalking the touchline, looking the part, a new sense of purpose, a real gravitas.

It will take a change of teams, but like Scott Mctominay, Roglic too must find his Napoli.

Do not forget, Schmovak Schmokovic absolving the Australian Open from Sinner

Currently it indeed seems that RBH might not be the best fit any more, still, it makes sense to take the remaining schedule seriously and lets see on where that takes us. Cycling is such a sport on where things can change rapidly.

With Van Eetvelt and De Lie leaving they might even have the budget for it. Lotto is known to hire golden oldies. Gilbert was also like that

There is enough Belgian guys now in RBH, that hence can't be an issue. Anyway, we are getting ahead of ourself. Rogla for example can still end up winning the Tour with RBH. We'll see.

No need to call competition like that.

As for Tour 2026, it's not like there is an issue involved, if the team offers Rogla co-leadership. It's not like any capable rider in the team will do any work for any other capable rider in the team. And it's not like they are going over there with an announcement they will win it. So in the end not taking Rogla is a strategy error. If Rogla ends up winning it then they will just have to cope.

He doesn't want it. He wants his 5th Vuelta and in all honesty he's not gonna get it unless his form has a dramatic uptick.

Not taking him when Remco and Lipowitz are clearly ahead is the right call
