Roglic will coast to this Vuelta.
He's already a half minute ahead of any serious competitor after only stage 4. We haven't even hit the mountains yet.
So many of the stage finishes suit him and he'll keep chipping away by getting a few seconds of a gap in the sprint finish, plus the bonus seconds.

Another exciting Vuelta...............

I have no idea how fresh Remco will be by the time the TT rolls around. But the TT itself* should favor Evenepoel very much over Roglic.

*To clarify, i'm talking about a long, flat, possibly windy (by the coast) TT.

I wouldn't say 'very much favor' but Evenepoel is indeed fully equipped to break the ITT winning streak of Roglič in Spain.

But I think looking at Rogla's attitude though & form so far, I don't think the time trial will be decisive. This next week should be super brutal & super exciting (for Roglič fans definitely).

I think the difference in this kind of TT out of GT context, would be substantial. As in, not just a few seconds.
But here in a GT after 10 days, Roglic could also come out on top, depending on Evenepoel's recovery.

Because it's a stage race I'd say Primoz won't concede much, if any time to Remco. That said, he lost a Tour that he should have won and that could be on his mind if it's close.

13 seconds is pretty solid today. Looking very good for 4 stages in, strong and in command. I expect him to put some serious time into all other GC contenders, possibly barring Remco, in the ITT. Sierra Nevada seems like the main danger stage.

27" to Remco
33" to Carapaz
51" to Yates
52" to Mas
53" to Almeida
54" to Hindley
Carapaz still is a danger man if he finds a way to get some space....which he'll need to offset the TT advantages of Remco and PR.

And the best news of the day: Team Jumbo-Visma | Roglic slaat dubbelslag in steile slotkilometer… (teamjumbovisma.nl)

He says he's fully recovered from the TdF crash.

Great win today, it looked easy but it was anything but, beating a strongman like Pedersen. Great job!

I don't know why people automatically assume Remco would beat Roglic in the TT? A reminder that Roglic is the Olympic champ. And he crushed everyone that day. Remco finished 9th at +2:17". The 2020 TdF was an outlier, and he still finished 5th on that stage.

I think it's mostly because it's a super flat ITT. I don't think Rog gets 3rd on a TT like the 2021 Worlds ITT like Evenepoel did.

Beautiful performance today by Rogla on stage 4. He was just covering all attacks and was the most dynamic in the sprinters bunch. On top of that a proper stomp.

As for stage 10 TT. It will be a battle for some prestige. Looking forward to it.

Evenepoel put more than one minute into Pogačar in the European and World Championships TT last year and Pogačar is not far from Roglič's level at TTs. Hilly TTs like the Olympic one are another beast but in flat efforts Remco is the best of the 'small guys'

@acm he lost weight when compared to the beginning of the season but he is still 2kg heavier than in the Giro last year so his performance shouldn't be affected.

We will see. I think the other thing that might favor Remco which you guys haven't mentioned is the TT is only stage 10 and the following day is a flat non GC day. If the TT was on stage 20 I'd favor Roglic further based upon what we know - we know Remco is yet to finish a grand tour.
