Teams & Riders Everybody needs a little bit of Roglstomp in their lives

@Extinction

Next time just extend the elbow and use it as a buffer. It's as simple as that. No special additional energy needed for that.

Some sort of contact will happen. But it won't have any meaningful effects. Cooked rider will back off.

And do that more back in the bunch too. As JV has no real intention to keep Roglič ahead of the bunch on GT races. Roglič will continue to do that alone. Protect himself with elbow.
But it only works if you are ahead not behind! And nobody was dirty here, although Primoz risked his reputation, in addition to crashing out of race.

Roglič names Fred Wright as the one responsible: Team Jumbo-Visma | One crash too many for Primoz Roglic, though there… (teamjumbovisma.com)

"This was not okay", the rider of Team Jumbo-Visma refers to the collision with Fred Wright, who finished fourth. "This shouldn't happen. People move on swiftly as if nothing happened. For me, that doesn't apply. This is not the way I want the sport to continue and I want to make that clear."
The three-time Vuelta a España winner reported feeling 'slightly better' this morning. He refrained from commenting on whether he will be able to continue the season. "I can walk a little bit. I am happy with that for the moment. After the crash, it took me time to straighten things out. I asked myself: how can this be? My conclusion is that the way this crash happened is unacceptable. Not everyone saw it correctly. The crash was not caused by a bad road or a lack of safety but by a rider's behaviour. I don't have eyes on my back. Otherwise, I would have run wide. Wright came from behind and rode the handlebars out of my hands before I knew it."

There we have it.

This is serious & I'm pleased to see Jumbo backing him with this as well.

According to Primoz. It's understandable he looks for a villain upon whom to cast his despondancy. But he's got no case. He doesn't need eyes in the back of his head, he only needs to look forward and around him to see that pushing on was a recipe for disaster. In fact, he is arrogantly expecting that the competition, based oh his GC interests, should have simply gotten out of his way. But they were racing for the stage win and their own interests. Unfortunately for Roglic it was ko.

This must be a joke.
ps: I'm very sad Roglic crashed and had to leave the race, but if he doesn't realize how he crashed and had to leave the race, I fear he hasn't learned anything, and I won't feel sad anymore if it happens again.

French rugby team strategy in the '80s: we look for ze space and zen we go.
You can't go where there's no space.
Fred Wright naturally didn't see Roglic, who was behind him, and opened up his sprint in the only direction that was an option, going left, otherwise he runs into the guys in front of him. Primoz only has himself to blame for trying to come through in that moment, for he was in last position and knew moving over to surge ahead was futile, and so in blockheaded fashion dared to go straight as if Wright, by law, should have docilely stayed where he was.

I can understand that Roglic himself has completely lost all grip with reality, but that the team is enforcing and enabling him is ROFL worthy.

"I'm glad that Primoz is speaking out"
- Richard Plugge

This is the guy who was publicly shaming Evenepoel for giving his opinion when asked by a journalist, about the Groenewegen/Jakobsen incident. This guy puts the statement on his own website. The guy leading a team of Vingegaard who crashed out 2 riders in 3 days time during Itzulia.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA etc

Not to mention, unlike in those other cases, that in this case there is no debate that Roglic is in fact the one at fault to begin with. What was Wright to do? Make himself disappear? Give up his spot in the train for his majesty Primoz The Blind? Disgusting statement.

This statement changes things for me. Roglic was naturally a lot closer to the incident than any of us and since the footage is inconclusive, then I am going to trust him with that. If he was indeed pushed from behind then I see no reason why his statement would be a disgrace..

Btw all you guys mocking him for supposed head injuries are seriously out of line here!

Huh? The footage clearly shows Write in third position moments before the contact occurred, caused by Roglic running into his rear cog set.

Come on now. Easy with the use of words pathetic, disgraceful and so on...
He probably didn't see the detailed video of the crash. When you are in the heat of the moment, giving everything and the crash happens in the blink of an eye, you probably don't even realise how it happened. If you add the immense disappointment and the realisation of another lost opportunity, it's easy to see someone else as a culprit. He'll change his mind in a couple of days. He is the last person to blame someone else for his mistakes.

Great, just what @CyclistAbi needed to think they’re right

Roglic rode into Wright’s left elbow with his right arm and handle bar. Roglic caused his own crash. Wright had stayed in his lane and side of the road while Roglic came in from the left. You don’t need eyes in the back of your head when you have your peripheral and forward vision.

Roglič has never said anything about anyone, i.e. never complained, never moaned, never called a spade a spade. Colbrelli? He said nothing. The hay bale? He never criticized the TdF organizers. Countless incidents over the years & he always kept his mouth shut.

So well done Rogla for speaking out. Well done Plugge for supporting him & "lol" at the indignant reactions from the same people who're always quick to insult Roglič anyway, calling him a useless rider & saying it's always his fault.

I think they knew this would cause some heated reactions & would be quite controversial, but they did it anyway. Let's see where this goes.

Thanks - never saw that one. Mea culpa.
