Beautiful performance by Rogla and the team, tactics perfectly played too on stage 11. Looks like they are rather sure in themself, didn't think they will blew today's stage apart already, a positive sign for the remainder of week two. Lets hope both Rogla and the team can keep it up. If they take 50% of opportunities ahead, that should already be rewarding.

I enjoy watching best cyclist in the universe at work, thank you.

Im just making assumptions, but I just find it funny how his back and his pain of it fluctuates as much as it does according to himself
I’m generally aligned with your takes, but I don’t quite understand this one. He has said before and during the Vuelta that his back still hurts. This is what the Cyclingnews recap said after his first victory on stage 4:

“"It was tough - the heat, and for me now coming a bit back," Roglič said, adding that he is still struggling with his back injury.”

Here he is after his stage 8 win per the guardian :

“I’m going every day full racing, just see how I will respond to all of this input to my body after a hard period with my injury. I still feel it, so we’ll see,” Roglic said.

Back very good today. I assume it will be back to quite bad when he loses time to Mas on a MTF
Which MTF do you think he will lose time to Mas? Did you study the profiles? I'm curious. I think nothing is quite like the Sierra Nevada stage. I could see Roglic losing time on stage 20 though.

I mean there was even a picture posted online, type and extent of injury. You can take that and ask some online or local orthopaedists, will i experience any pain if i ride Vuelta with such condition a month from now?

Or just do what @tobydawq did and you'll answer it for yourself.

Hazallanas was by far the hardest stage of the Vuelta, probably overall, so I don't think it's weird at all if that's a stage where his back felt the worst and where he wanted to attack but noped out in the end.
I think so too. Maybe stage 20. But in retrospect that tripple succession of hard climbs was not in favor of Roglic. I think he fares way better on all the stages to come, as they have easier run ins to a single hard climb, where he might be on par with Mas if not slightly better.

A moment when journalist asks Rogla about the back pain and Rogla answers it.

I do wonder if Rogla doesn't attack more due to being cautious in regards to the crashes, age catching up or he just likes to wheel suck. Such dilemmas!
He has initiated the attacks on several of the climbs and then rode at the front. The least wheel sucking we’ve seen. But he does modulate his efforts to conserve energy when he can. That used to be normative behavior for GC leaders but Pogacar and Vingegaard skew out vision because they ride like they have endless energy.

@Sciatic

I see. A lot of people came in the past to say hi and on why doesn't Rogla attack, or similar. Was wondering what is going on this time and now i see they are still waiting for the cue.
Roglic is definitely attacking and setting the pace more than maybe any GT at this point. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wants to take advantage of the days his back isn’t hurting as bad as others since you never know what will happen. Plus has to get that gap down to about a minute before the TT.
