If you're talking about 'winning' the Tour or going for his own objective, then it's a circular discussion because we come right back round to the fact Red Bull just brought in Evenepoel and they have Lipowitz as well.

So it's a pretty obvious bottleneck there because they're not going to take 3 leaders to the TdF.

They can do it thinking that 3 vs 1 can give them some advantage over Teddy.

I would be careful with using the leader word. That is most of the riders in discussion are not yet there in terms of they setting the rules, on what they want to do. That is, at least for now, mostly fandom talk and i assume international media to get involved too.

What most of them are now is a quality team member. Weakening the Tour team, due to perceiving 5 riders as leaders, that is a big no no. What RBH has now is not 5 leaders, they now have a worthy Tour team and that is mostly that. Something UAE and Visma already had and RBH didn't have. On top of that it is now expected from RBH, to finish higher then third at the Tour, anything less that that will be considered a flop.

Press conference concerning selections before going to the worlds. Murn doesn't escape from the role of favourites, bias is towards Pogi still Rogla will come well prepared, directly from the altitude, 14 days at Sierra Nevada. Focus will be on covering attacks from strong breakaway riders. Murn is aware that everybody will be racing against Slovenia, attacks initiated by team Slovenia less likely. First part of the team to fly to Rwanda on Wednesday, Tratnik non participation unofficially related to team interest in regards to the season goals. In terms of TT Murn expect a battle in between Pogi and Remco.

So basically Roglic gets a free role. If Pogacar wants to make use of him, he actually needs to attack early so he doesn't get boxed in by his own teammate.

It depends, if other teams will be pressing hard then likely team Slovenia will use all its resources, to make it easy(er) for Pogi. Otherwise of course to keep more options open deep into the race. Rogla likely not to attack on his own, then again if covering a strong breakaway move, what else can one do beyond tagging along. For Rogla hence IMHO the question is on what happens on mount Kigali and potentially on how fresh and in what position he gets over it. If Pogi launches on Kigali then likely Rogla will be already spent to some extent, still tagging along with the chasers. If both get over Kigali relatively fresh, hopefully with some other team members, then IMHO Slovenia will use the strength of numbers and both could eventually attack and win the event.

I think if Pogi launches on Kigali he loses the WC anyway. It would be best for Roglic to just stay put and follow Belgium/Denmark/France

This is likely a decision that will be made for Slovenia. From other nations perspective they basically have two general options, drill hard from the get go, that will likely launch Pogi on Kigali, after try to chase him down. Or to ease off and face Rogla and Pogi playing numbers on you at the end of the race. We'll see.

Nah you cannot have Pogacar not be able to do his thing just because Roglic is ahead. Most likely if Roglic goes in an early move he may posture and not cooperate because Pogacar is behind, but Pogacar should not protect Roglic ahead. That is probably the best attempt to lose.
If Roglic is in G1 and Pogacar attacks from the peloton and there are riders able to follow Pogacar he should stop riding. Right? You can't expect Pogacar to bring along Evenepoel to the G1 for free... Obviously if no one is able to follow Pogacar when he attacks, he can do whatever he pleases.

If Pogacar attacks he will have less followers than me on tiktok. And I don't have tiktok.

That strategy is actually not bad. Roglic can surf ahead if the race tactics allow it but his full commitment should only be after Pogacar has been separated and unlikely to contribute. The closer Tadej gets to a move with Roglic; the harder those escapees may work; not a losing circumstance for Roglic or Tadej.
If there were a separation and either of those two could gain contact with a danger break; the other should welcome the company unless that lead group is in the final approaches of the race. Very simplistic but also very unlikely. Tadej's always going to have to initiate and Roglic has to survive the distance to be relevant.

It's a weird situation anyway, with such an absurdly overwhelming favorite. Nearly all the standard cycling wisdom can go right out the window.

Basically unless Roglic is alone there's not a single group Roglic can get away in in which he is more of a favorite than Pogacar.
