Why would it be a bad thing to race the Tour and fail to win it.

But that's my point, either he wins it, which he didn't obviously, or it's kind of irrelevant where he finishes

I can't possibly find a correlation in between your original response, on how Jonas will tell you cycling exist outside of the Tour and what you wrote in this reply.

Roglic can't win the Tour (anymore), so he should focus on other things. He was already 2nd in the Tour, 5th or 8th doesn't change anything

If I'm Roglic I would look to win Tour of Switzerland and set the record for Vuelta wins at this career point. Maybe not quite the same as a TDF win but infinitely more achievable.

A lot of riders do it as an extension of the Giro though? If he goes for Giro-Vuelta double, why not take TDS too? Between TDS and Vuelta are 2 months, so enough to rest, recharge batteries and train for Vuelta

It's not a thing that's done very succesfully recently IIRC, and I think it's really bad for the Vuelta prep. The only good reason for it would be that it's gonna be 5 days of a women's stage length and difficulty.

That's true, most winners use it as a pre-TDF instead of a post-Giro race. And it's better to get 1-2 weeks rest after Giro too

Any rumours regarding Primoz? One more shot at the Tour or Giro again? Vuelta a playa de Espana is almost certain IMO. They will have to make it compatible with Remcos schedule. If Remco does the Giro then its more likely Primoz does the Tour (maybe with Remco). I think one of them (and only one) will be at the Giro.

No rumours, he only said he wanted to do TDF and Vuelta. I think every rider has told the team what they wanted. Staff should announce schedules to all riders during the first team camp in December. Since we don't know the route of the Giro/Vuelta yet, it has probably not been decided completely.

Tour, Vuelta and ToS where hinted but obviously this wasn't discussed with the team yet in depth and hence still can change.

Hmm, good question. I would think December, whenever they invite press.

EDIT: last year, Roglic’s schedule was announced 14th of December

It's Roglic. You know he races when he shows up on the starting podium and even then you're not sure if he's meant to race or simply got lost in training gear.

I just thought he seemed a bit less motivated than usual last year. Hoping to see a return to form, but no, I wouldn't expect him to challenge for a Tour win.
