Without Alaphilippe's actions,that was sanctioned, Roglic would have finished fourth. Pogacar would almost certainly have won, with Hirschi second; they were the strongest.

I had just about forgotten that finish, but yeah it took Alaphilippe hooking Hirschi and Pogacar basically out of contention and then celebrating early for Roglic to notch his lone Monument victory.

Some would say Alaphilippe heroically led out Roglic to victory.

Because Hirschi had mechanical issues, and took Pogacar out of contention for the sprint... "Beating" Pogacar is a serious stretch here when he couldn't ride his sprint.

Not sure why LBL 2023 doesn't count, and on top of it he has beaten him at a WC.

I see. LBL edition, on where Pogi took himself out early in the race counts but a LBL edition on where it came to a bunch sprint and Rogla won sprinting, that doesn't really count. You have to admit this are rather strange criteria.

Anyway, note that when i wrote earlier Rogla has, among other, beaten Pogi in a GT race, week long stage race and at a monument, here i meant in races without any * involved, races on where both finished, racing against each other, and where Rogla won. And as said that was the era on where Pogi was already winning Tour(s) and beyond.

All in all Rogla is in a kind of strange position ATM, he already achieved, as the only one in history of cycling, what everybody else is dreaming of doing, some day. So motivation can take a hit, still winning some more, for the fans, why not.

As for the eras, some having issues pin pointing Rogla, a hint, think in eons. When Armstrong was still racing Rogla was a junior world champ, now when it's supposedly Pogi era, after all other supposed eras, Rogla is still leading Red Bull in the fight for the red.
