If anything it’s worse for Roglic with the distance and intensity from UAE going farther and farther out. Only way it’ll benefit him is everyone saves it for Poggio. With how MSR is being raced now, it might be more suited to him. It breaks open early, and sure he won’t be in the right position, but after that moment he can help chase and if they are able to catch the lead it’s a small group on the Poggio
If everyone saves it for Poggio he wint be positioned well and won’t be part of the race.If anything it’s worse for Roglic with the distance and intensity from UAE going farther and farther out. Only way it’ll benefit him is everyone saves it for Poggio.
But he’ll actually have energy to do something. Otherwise he’s just a passenger princess like at the last few GDLs, if he’s even in the second group. If everyone saves it for Poggio he wint be positioned well and won’t be part of the race.
As for what happens at the business end of the race, who cares?
I guess most people watching the race...
If most people means Pog and VdP fans, sure.
I don't think anyone chooses to watch MSR and then turn off before the business end of the race because they've seen all they care of.
MSR was certainly not boring last year. But fair enough if it was only a comment about Roglic. When I said "who cares" I'm talking specifically about Rog's performance. You're the one who seems intent on extrapolating that into a broader audience interest in the race as a whole.
But that being said, I'll say quite unambiguously here last year's races sucked to high heaven because one or two riders dominated outrageously in every major race and the racing was boring. Be it in the monuments or the Tour.

I'm not a fanboy of either and watching Pog riding Strade, LBL, Lombardia or mountain stages doesn't do much for me.I didn't have fun watching Contador sprinting against Rasmussen on the Peyresourde in the 2007 TdF. So you can imagine I didn't find Pog versus VdP on the Poggio fun last year either.
A lot of fanboys of Pog & VdP mistake their own excitement when watching their favorite rider demolish everyone as "great entertainment".
I like suspense, unknown, unpredictability. And a good chase.
You're only interested in cycling when your favourite riders are doing well? Maybe Pidcock too, if he didn't start the Cipressa in 70th position or something like that. Or did he even crash at the bottom?i concur
it was great, i guess only 11 rivals it
only plausible difference thatd have made it better wouldve been a healthy pedersen following
How can you even say this with a straight face?Pog makes races boring. VdP makes races boring. Their battle are also boring unless you're a fan of either.
No way. I think you would be in the small minority. I think most fans are looking forward to the next installment of Pog vs MVDP at MSR, Flanders and P-R.Pog makes races boring. VdP makes races boring. Their battle are also boring unless you're a fan of either.
But that's also the only thing involving those two that I'm looking forward to. I agree with Rackam's general point. But I also agree with toby that MSR was awesome even if I don't particularly care for any of the riders involved. No way. I think you would be in the small minority.
