Neither of them was held back by their team and both profited by del Toros willingness to work.
They didnt cooperate and so at least Pellizzari lost a good chance to put more time on the competition for the podium.

He saved Roglic’ ass on the sterrati last year only to end up having to save Red Bulls Giro GC later on. And he seems to be the better rider here as well.

They didn't cooperate as they didn't have to, del Toro did all the work. As for Giulio, Rogla doesn't stand in his way. He doesn't need to launch Rogla as del Toro needs to launch Pogi.

Note that personally i wouldn't mind it, from time to time.

It makes a difference whether you work with 3 or having one guy doing all the work. And you could also see that there were some small moments of hesitation for Isaac when pulling.

Gap would have been 15-20 seconds larger for sure if the other two had cooperated. And Pellizzari doesnt have to launch Roglic anymore because Roglic lost too much of his acceleration.

He doesnt stand in his way, as he is always behind him.

How about the leaders at Redbull start performing or let riders like Giulio shine.

You can't have it both ways, that is if Giulio was not allowed to work with the duo then he is still launching Rogla.

Doesn't he shine like a star already?

Once again Roglic is washed within 2 race days of the season starting.

Give it an additional day or two.

Come on, no one is standing in Giulio's way. He's clearly a co-captain and he is not "chained" to Primož like he was last year.

Pellizzari is very good and I wouldn’t be surprised if he has a Vingegaard type rise where he ends up surprising some of the louder phenoms. Maybe this is that year, but as of last year he was not ready. Sure, he did some work for Roglic before Roglic got KOed in the Giro, but after Roglic was out, aside from major display of force, Pellizzari did not deliver the goods. Nearly 10 minutes back or Simon Yates in GC is far from Roglic’s normal level.

I refuse to believe that. He had a stomp last year at Catalunya and then "bam", after two months it was gone. I have no idea what happened, but in two months you can't decline that much. But stomp wouldn't have helped him today anyway, he just couldn't follow the front group on the gravel.
He had a teammate up the road and, as slick as it looked most riders could only go the speed the surface allowed. Sketchy when wet.

If Mathieu and Pellizzari were allowed to ride he would have been out of the GC fight here already.
MvP was free to ride any way he wanted. As sketch as the gravel was; he was fine and protected by UAE, RB with their main guys back in the pack. He needed to win the sprint and that wasn't a foregone situation. He's not a GC contender unless he suddenly decides that's important. Just training and Pellizzari was doing his thing, too. It didn't look like gaps were changing that much once it got slick except for crashes.
