Benno. We all know you believe every single rider in the peloton is clean. 100% of them. That is clear to all of us? Is it really neccesary then to pick up on every single poster who says any rider may be clean. Especially if ultimately you aren't going to be specific about that rider anyway and just use the same "everyone must dope" argument, regardless who it is.

Every single poster?

Not given to exaggeration.

And picking on? What you talking about?

Interesting to read all the posturing about suing Hendo. Obvious tactic is to try to gain as much traction as possible from their outraged reaction. Then drop it like a stone.
Proceeding to litigation would be lose/lose.
Hendo would probably be forced to adopt a truth defense. Open up a passport case against Fabs Jr. in open court and call expert witnesses for each side. Disaster for Aru even if he prevailed, because we all know the passport is a Rorschach test and a political tool. And collecting would be like blood from a stone. :)
Still, it was gracious of Hendo to apologize.
Fabs should just accept and say, ok, I understand, I hate dopers too.

The above is all BS and speculation. :)

Regarding Astana license news… wow, shocking, Nibs the defending champ gets to defend his Tour title. Echo.

Someone needs to open a passport case against Cookson. Seriously, wtf is he on? Can we get some of that? :D

In his twitter apology Henderson used Aru's correct twitter handle - so by implication ...
Any way Fabio should just leave it where it stands.

He's a little guy who can show how big he really is.

Agree with you. It's a very risky to go in front of court if biological passport can be questionned and interpreted.

I would like know why Greg would say such a thing ? I am aware that some people will just put out tweets like these, but not even Oleg is calling people out as genuine dopers. Has he done a thing like this before ? Why would he even mention the BP if he doesn't know something ?

What I am getting at, is that you probably know something is going on before you put something like that on Twitter. Not to mention the very fast apology afterwards, which to me indicates someone has told Greg "listen buddy, we don't need that heat, even though you're right".

I truly believe Astana is that stupid. IMO Aru is just below Ritchie in terms of carreer-trajectory. He's ok but he's not nibali or basso. And to talk about him winning the Giro, that's just nonsense.

You should maybe ask dude from the site veloropa who quoted an Astana press release april 21: 'Good for Astana, that it's only a stomach virus that's keeping Fabio Aru from competing at Giro del Trentino. Right?'

I think that is the source of the story of the rumoured issues w Aru's blood. Unless new stuff comes to light I would suggest that the story happened because internet site tried to be clever and or wanted to appear to 'know' stuff and other media and a known moron like Henderson picked up on it.

You do know Richie Porte has more points on CQ this year so far than Aru managed last year when he top 5ed two Grand Tours, right?

And that at the age Aru is now, Porte was losing five minutes per mountain stage in the Giro? And that Porte then went on to suck enormously for a season before turning into the Sky mountain machine we now know?

And that even then he had a year of being dreadful, mostly due to illness and injury, in the middle?

The point is, Aru's trajectory is fairly normal. He seems like a good prospect, then he jumps up the rankings in his following GTs, aged 24. It's not dissimilar to people like Quintana, except he's on (even) shadier teams. There's none of the crazy veerings in performance like Porte, nor is there a real coming out of nowhere; people thought Aru was a big talent very early on, whereas Porte because of coming from triathlon and the Aussie domestic calendar (which is a bit harder to gauge level of than Italian or Belgian U23 races) was a bit of an unknown quantity when he appeared at Saxo.

They're both very suspicious, but for different reasons and along different lines. Their career trajectories are practically nothing alike.

I read tweets like Hendersons to mean something like "you guys are getting away with something that we can't. I would like to join you, but since you refuse to share I will call you out."

It's dopers desperation...

@hrotha
Which would explain his poor performances in the GTs, but he was also nowhere in the one week stage races. But I guess he was pretty demotivated after not getting a pay raise after '10 and just waiting for the year to finish.

just for the record: Aru lost additional 5kg prior to the Giro? So in fact he's at ~56kg at 1.83m now, which means a BMI of 16.3 including leg musculature!?

That's incredibly lean! #thinspiration
No, he claimed to have lost 5kg because of the diarrea that allegedly made him skip the Giro del Trentino.

Yeah, but didn't he also claim he felt good again, already?
Which suggests to me, he sees himself in great bodyshape!

He must have lost just water, you get all that weight back in a couple of days normally.
