It's tacky posturing, and makes me think less of Aru that they're still discussing this in the press, even after a public apology from Henderson.

Super douchey move by Aru. This puts him in the long line of fine cycling litigants, Armstrong, Verbruggen, Mcquaid,

Worth mentioning that Marion Jones, Roger Clemens and Victor Conte all filed defamation lawsuits at some point. If I'm on the fence about someone being a doper, when they file the defamation lawsuit that's usually the decider.

Hard to see anyone coming out of this looking good. Where has the lawsuit been filed?

Not sure if you guys have seen this yet but there is a new "secret pro" article that has a focus on Aru vs Henderson.

http://cyclingtips.com.au/2015/05/the-secret-pro-aru-vs-henderson-the-giro-and-more/

Excerpt:

The whole Astana situation is something that’s been the talk of the peloton for a fair while now. I for one haven’t got a clue what the UCI were up to when they allowed Astana to keep their licence. The team and their situation pisses so many people off; they’re a joke really.

And as for Fabio Aru, well, I’ll keep my mouth shut. I’ll learn from the mistake made by Greg Henderson, a man I have huge respect for. To people who say the omertà is still alive and that riders should just speak out if they know something: get a grip. In this day and age throwing around accusations without evidence is tough; you can’t say anything for fear of getting sued. But I know after Greg Henderson put “that” tweet out many people made the effort to shake his hand and praise him for saying what he did.

While I’m on the subject of Astana they, along with Tinkoff-Saxo, have been throwing their weight around in the peloton at the Giro. Trying to show who has the biggest balls seems to be the order of the day for these guys.

When I saw the Aru comments by Henderson and then the Wallace comments on cyclingtips in reply to poster comments it was pretty obvious it was going to end up in a secret pro column. I could barely tolerate the secret pro when it was an actual pro, now it's just a joke.

Unless Henderson cofirms it and it actually goes through, this is just empty posturing.

Yep, easy defence for Greg if it actually does go anywhere is subpoena the passport. Easy. Just pr spin for Astana at the moment.

Aru and Astana talk of the 'peloton', ie five guys from Australia, eight from New Zealand, three from England and one from South Africa. Oh wait and climbers makes sprinters crash in sprints. Not really though. But Richie Porte is a great guy and the motorhome is a sweet secret place to hang out.

If Aru goes ballistic on the road, will Henderson undelete those tweets and then go for the ultimate twitter faux pas and retweet himself?

Uci's rules, not Gazzetta/Rcs rules

AGAIN he knows, he's trolling to make you angry and laughing his ass off every time someone replies to him, why are you reading his posts?

I remember about 15/20 years ago former Irish Taoiseach (or Prime Minister in English) brought a libel case for defamation against a British newspaper (I think the Times). Judge ruled in his favour, however took into account what his name was worth in the public eye and awarded him the princely sum of 1 penny in damages.
Thread carefully, Fabio!
